Happy Memorial Day

Posted on 05/27/2013 at 12:31 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I usually find myself working on Memorial Day,much like I am now. But I always take time to thank my patients out in the nursing homes. The ones I know are vets. Even though today is meant for remembering those who gave all, these people gave their all and made sacrifices. If it weren't for them,we would be living in a very oppressive country. We owe them our thanks and respect for that.

I'm back...wait, huh? Post-op catch-up and other stuff.

Glad your arm surgery went well. There are far worse places to have a scar,so you are lucky on that one. That has to be frustrating having it in a cast and trying to game. As for Zelda, I'm playing Ocarina Of Time on 3DS and enjoying it. The whole Zelda series is spectacular, yet sort of daunting to me. Lots of time needed to get thru those. Not something I have a lot of these days. Phantom Hourglass might be just right for me,though.

My very first exposure to the music of The Who was a soundtrack to their film,The Kids Are Alright. Blew me away it was so good!

A friend gave me Townshend's biography a few months ago. He has lived a very colorful life. Great songwriter and guitarist with distinctive style.

I tend to better at flying games like this one. Like driving, the more realistic it gets...the more I wipe out! Those flying levels in Warped were so much fun. Freaky Flyers and Crimson Skies were both good flyers, too.

Retro Game of the Week: Fighting Force

I remember renting that game once. You are absolutely correct,it is one shiny turd of a game. It got a lot of hype when it came out,and I don't know why.  Maybe the Core/Eidos brand did it. Those 3 you showed there are all classics. Especially Turtles In Time, that's one I really liked.

Stupid Tech-Demo Nonsense

That arm hair thing was puzzling to me. Who cares about stuff like that anyway? Besides,Adam Sessler made a comment recently about how graphics will not be the deciding factor,as both the PS4 and XBOX One will be capable of great visual presentation. That is why I'm looking forward to E3 so much. Maybe then we'll see gameplay rather than just specs and eye candy.

Ni No Kuni Review PLUS!

I have read tons of reviews of this game. Seen many bits of gameplay online. But your review is by far the best I've ever read of it. Mainly because you get past all the nostalgia and bowing to it's artistry. You pull no punches is what I'm saying. Maybe I have lost touch with my "inner child" in that it comes across as very cutesy. That is not always a game breaking flaw for me,though. It is what it is,and much of it looks outstanding. So I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point. Fine job and very interesting, too.

A Small Collection of Poetry

Great photos of Midori. Simply beautiful. All 3 poems were very good. Cure was probably my favorite. Made me think of how when you are at your lowest, the right person being there makes a huge difference. Gone made me kind of sad. So many people find themselves at that point and leave this world. I cannot walk a mile in their shoes, but you wish you could somehow convince them life will get better.

This looks like a really good game. You got me into Resonance Of Fate from reading your blog,so I may have to try it. This is one of those series I've never played before. Of course,I really didn't know much about it. Seems like a very deep and expansive world, which is always fun to explore.
