Pixlbit Questionaire #11

Posted on 12/07/2015 at 05:11 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I think my first handheld was an arcade cabinet-shaped Pac-Man LCD game.

I wasn't impressed with the Game Boy at first.  I could already play Tetris on my PC, and I couldn't understand why anyone would want to play on such a tiny green screen.  The first game that really showed me there was a future in handheld gaming was Link's Awakening, which ended up being my top favorite Zelda game of all time.

Most of the time, Nintendo ruled my handheld gaming time.  I did get into a lot of PSP games, but there was one time that I liked a handheld better than Nintendo's.  And that was the Neo Geo Pocket Color.  I thought that SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash was better than Pokemon!

I Finally Finished Journey

Journey was a neat game, but I guess I didn't like it as much as everyone else.  It's just a game about a ketchup bottle walking through the desert. :)

Skylanders Sale at Gamestop Continues

I'm glad I've been able to review all the Skylanders games.  Too bad you didn't get the Wii U and 3DS versions.  They come with Donkey Kong and Bowser Skylanders!

November 2015 Recap

If you like Return to Dream Land, you should also try Kirby Triple Deluxe on 3DS.

I covered and previewed Dragon Fin Soup for a couple of years, and when it came out and I requested a review copy, they just said, "Oh it's free with PS Plus this month."  I don't subscribe to that, so that kind of pissed me off.

It's hard to get people to play Triforce Heroes with me.

Quick Hits: What's On TV, And The Usual

My favorite Christmas songs are "Do You Hear What I Hear?", "Snoopy's Christmas," and when The Muppets sing "12 Days of Christmas" at the start of the John Denver Christmas special.

I want that Mario car!  A few years ago, I think Matchbox did video game character cars with games from SEGA and Namco.  I believe there was a Nintendo one, too. My favorite was the Space Channel 5 van with Ulala on it.

Hey did you get a chance to read my LEGO blog?  I know it was really long!

A Hundred Score and Twelve Years

One cool thing about the Wreck-It Ralph soundtrack is the "Wreck It, Wreck It Ralph" theme song was done by the same folks who did Pac-Man Fever back in the 80's, and the Sugar Rush theme song was done by AKB48, a J-Pop group.  So it all seems fitting.

My Game of the Year in 2012 was Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy on 3DS.  I really like Final Fantasy music and making a music game out of it was so cool.  2012 was also the year the Wii U came out, so that was pretty significant.

Other highlights in gaming for 2012 included:

Soul Calibur V (360)

Nintendo Land (Wii U)

Sonic & SEGA Racing Transformed (360)

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (360)

20th Anniversary Kirby's Dream Collection (Wii)

Double Dragon Neon (360)

Sorry about your grandmother.  It's tough when you know family that's not doing too well.  It was rough when my grandmother died a couple of years ago.
