Saturday Morning Reviews!

As far as Garfield games go, one I would like to give a second chance to is Garfield: Caught in the Act.  It was only on SEGA Genesis, so I never played it much, but I sure wanted to.  When I did play it through emulation, it wasn't quite as good as I hoped, but it wasn't THAT bad either.  It was also made during the peak of 16-bit 2-D sprite art and animation, and I even read somewhere that Jim Davis himself did the illustrations for the graphics.  I wouldn't mind a re-release or maybe even a remake with some gameplay tweaks and quality of life features.

As far as a Heathcliff game goes, I'd like to see a game based on the cartoon.  More specifically, the Catilac Cats portion of the show.  It's the part where these three junkyard cats would travel in their transforming car/boat/plane and have all sorts of adventures.  That was my favorite part of the Heathcliff cartoon!

I think the whole thing about Advance Wars being delayed is kind of dumb.  I mean, there's wars going on all the time in real life, and there are war video games coming out all the time, too.  I guess I'm just not sensitive enough to those things.

They're interesting, but a bit clunky.  Like I said, everyone in those games moves around like they ate a bowl of valium for breakfast.  Also it can be hard to relate to since most of the spooky stuff is from Eastern origins.  My favorite Fatal Frame game is actually the one on the 3DS that they changed the name to Spirit Camera, although it felt more like a tech demo.

The Low-Effort Gamer Show: Popeye

I'm actually a pretty big fan of newspaper comic strips, so I find Popeye's comic strip history more fascinating than anything else.  Also Wimpy is my favorite character.  I used to know a Disney animator who wanted to do Popeye cartoons so he moved to work for Famous Studios.  But since he worked for Disney and was typecast as a 'cutesy' animator, they had him work on Casper instead.

Never was a big fan of Crash.  Only Crash game I liked was Crash Team Racing.

I'm not really a Frank Zappa guy, but I have been around for a while and sometimes I know stuff.

I like the Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games, but they all kind of end up feeling the same to me.  I remember when Stardew Valley came out, everyone was like, "Wow this game is so innovative."  And don't get me wrong, Stardew Valley is great, but I would always be like, "Uh, Harvest Moon has been doing this for decades now."  Have you ever played any of the Story of Seasons games that have Doraemon in them?  Those are weird.  Me personally, I really like the Rune Factory games more.  Speaking of which, I think they're remaking Rune Factory 3 this year.  I'll have to add that to my list!

Wow, there were Digimon cards?  Of course there were.  Yeah I was into Digimon a little bit back in the day because one, I was reviewing a lot of Pokemon games and I got to review a lot of Digimon games, too, because of that.  And the other reason is because I was pretty into the first few seasons of the anime.  It actually wasn't too bad, really.  My friends and I went to go see the Digimon movie when it came out and I think we were the only adults in the theater. :)  But yeah I would love to try the Cyber Sleuth games.

I have newspaper clippings of all my reviews!  They're in an album.  The Pac-Man World review is the only one I have scanned into my computer, though, as it's one of my most proudest reviews.
