The Wolf Among Us - Episode 2: Smoke and Mirrors Review

Posted on 03/05/2014 at 05:00 PM | Filed Under Review

There are lulls in any story, and I just think Episode 2 was destined to fall into that inevitability. My biggest disappointment was with how quickly the Snow White incident was resolved--I had expected at least a full episode of Bigby agonizing over that one.

"If you grew up with an NES and never missed an episode of Saved By the Bell..."

They should just make a Saved by the Bell game. With Ninja Turtles and He-Man and maybe a Smurf. That would be some fun.

DooM 64

Serious Sam is always the run-and-gun FPS I go to first, but DooM 64 was actually a pretty cool reenvisioning of the original classic. I just wish the graphics weren't so dark--even with the brightness settings placed at their most optimum, I often had to struggle to see where I was going.

I'd love to try this just for the story--does the game, by chance, offer a casual mode?

The Indie Revolution: Taking a Look at the Overlooked #7...Noyd

Yeah, "Noid" is probably what everyone thinks when they hear that name, but I don't see any connection. Don't let the lack of Domino's lovable mascot keep you from this "Noyd," though!

3D Sonic the Hedgehog Review

I do like Sonic 2, but I just found it too difficult. But the inclusion of Tails and the spin dash were great additions. Sonic CD is also cool. After that, though, the Sonic games impress me less and less.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog Review

The first Sonic is probably my favorite--I actually like the fact that it doesn't emphasise speed as much as the later games, which became more about spectacle than gameplay. I also like that Sonic 1's difficulty is actually manageable. It wasn't until the 360 version of Sonic 2 (and its save-anywhere ability) that I finally managed to beat that game's two final bosses.

And besides, without the original, we wouldn't have the surreal Green Hill Zone and its awesome soundtrack!

Halo: Mortal Dictata Review

I meant the very first book written among the Halo novels, but after looking at that cover art, I'm not sure "The Flood" is the one I own after all. But I have to ask--why do you think that particular book is skippable? Is it poorly written or simply not important enough in context of the other titles? Anyway, thanks.

Hmm, interesting piece. I actually have the original Halo novel written years ago, but have yet to read it. Should I still read that (and others in the series) first, or can I hop right into this one if I choose?

3D Space Harrier Review

Never thought of this game as an endless runner, but I guess it sort of is. I've played the Sega Ages version on the PS2 the most; thought it was fun, but I really dug the music.
