"Keep"ing the Identity of Dragon Age Intact

I know it uses stuff from my Origin account, but I played DA:O before Origin was a thing and it definitely pulled data from that playthrough intact besides those couple of discrepancies. I did have to select my Origins character from scratch, but I kind of expected that.

Totally agree with you about the social media thing. I would also love an app along the lines of the Mass Effect codex that came out with ME 3.

I think this is going to be one of those games, much like Batman: Arkham Asylum, where no matter when you upgrade your console or PC you should seek it out and play it. The things it does with AI and the open-ended nature to so much of the game will take a long time to be copied by other games.

This is a way late reply, but I probably won't get to mention it on the show.

How freaking awesome was Captain Cold? It was like he stepped out of the comic!

So I can tell you that the game gets very pretty when you get further in. Like, surprisingly so. I hear your complaints about the color palette, but it becomes a much more lush environment later on. But that's also about halfway in, so I understand if you can't power through.

I think the combat is good, but it gets way better as you level up. As I mentioned in my storytime, I love how I could use the stealth and the environment to my advantage. I have never been as satisfied blowing up dudes as I have by setting off an uruk campfire. Also, things that felt weak to me at the beginning (the bow and the swordplay) got really awesome later on. I do think the game takes too long to show you the really great stuff. Once you can posess uruks mid-battle and have them turn on their comrades the combat completely changes in a really amazing way.

Yeah, without the Nemesis system this is just an okay Batman/Assassin's Creed game. Like I said, the combat is similar, but it takes a long time before Talion feels really powerful. I died a LOT in this game, especially early on. Wait for your next gen console. And by "next gen" I mean "PS4" because come on.

Really? That isn't the tone I was going for. It has some issues, but I think it's a very clever way of getting to bring your world over, or play around with different outcomes without having to play through 160 hours of previous titles.

Review Outcries: Take Some Accountability

I have always been a firm believer in using the whole score scale. I wrote a PlayStation fanzine when I was in high school. I used the 0-100 scale because I was a huge DieHard GameFan, er, fanboy. I gave Alone in the Dark 2 a 12, because I found it to be nearly unplayable, but I was saving the single digit scores for something truly dreadful.

I've done my best to review games for PixlBit by acknowledging the technical merits of the title along with my personal feelings. That's why Saints Row IV was my second favorite game of 2013, but I still had to speak to the problems it has. Hopefully, I have done a good job of explaining why I like or dislike a game, and that my words and my score jive together.

Oh, weird! I also backed The Comedy Button, and they did the thanks at the end of the episode for like a year. But props to you, especially since you were like the only person to hear my name called and said "I know that guy!"

HA HA! And I have yet to listen to an episode. Totally forgot about it, even though I adore Jeremy Parish.

Sorry, Daftman. Been travelling and working like a dog. Skip ahead about 10 minutes. We really only spoil the premise of the story arc, and no spoilers for the other Snyder stories.
