I think they could make a whole game out of the music levels in Rayman Legends. Such a good idea.

I liked the SNES DKC games, but not enough to buy them on virtual console. They were fun games, but maybe a tiny bit overrated at times. My favorite story about those games was when I showed DKC to my brother Jeff when he was only one year old and could barely talk. He was so facinated by it that when my mom came into the room, he started babbling to her and pointing at the TV. By the end of the summer, he leaned to say "Donkey Kong" so he could let me know he wanted to watch me play it. Granted he said it more like "Konky Konk," but Donkey Kong was one of his first words!
Link's Awakening is my all-time favorite Zelda game.
I love the Shantae games, too.
I don't really play Mortal Kombat games, but my favorite characters were Reptile, Sonya, and Jade because they wore green.
The PS2 sequel, Samurai Legend Musashi, is definitely not as good as the first one.
Parasite Eve had an interesting concept, but it was too gross for me. One weird thing is that at the time, I had a kinda-sorta girlfriend who looked just like the main character in that game.
Which is interesting since FF9 is an FF game about other FF games. :)
Due to Shovel Knight's popularity, we'll be seeing a lot of ripoffs. I think this year's Shovel Knight is going to be Adventures of Pip.
I actually don't like Super Mario Bros. as much as most others do. But I will agree that SMB Deluxe had a lot of improvements and additions to it. And it's a pretty technical feat for a GBC game.
Some of the folks who did Mystery Science Theater 3000 (my all time favorite TV show) now do something similar called Rifftrax. They made fun of Starship Troopers on Rifftrax. I remember in college seeing the original movie in theaters and how awful it was!
I think Klonoa is one of the best 2-D platformers ever made! Of course I also really like Kirby games, too, so...
I suggest sticking it out until the end of Klonoa. The final parts of the game get surprisingly dark for such a cutesy title. And if you collect all the little Phantomilians in every level, you'll unlock a super hard secret stage!
I just wrote a blog about PlayStation games, myself. If you get a chance, I'd encourage you to read it.
