I tried looking through the show notes, but I think we were still doing PixlTalk when Patrick went to Europe, and those episodes got lost in the Great Server Wipe of 2012. Sorry about that. I think I might still have those around somewhere, so perhaps I can find it and get it to you somehow.

Thank you so much for what you said about my hosting style. I think when the show started I was definitely influenced by Davis and Gerstmann on a subconscious level, but when Ryan died last year I really tried to bring a little bit of his fire and fervor to NWP as an homage. And maybe my negativity lately has had more of a Jeff Gerstmann flavor to it, too...

I dunno, man. Being on twitter has not only soured me to being in the video game industry, but from calling myself a gamer at all. I'm glad I have a job where I can't be on twitter all day anymore, because the outrage of the day gets so incredibly tiresome. From the jaded games writers to the armchair feminists to the too cool for school indie devs...I just find it exhausting and a little embarrassing.

And let me guess, there are some moments where you have to pause or back up or (my personal least favorite thing) explain what just happened which causes you to miss what's currently happening. Am I right?

Double Dragon Neon is worth it for the soundtrack alone. And it's worth finishing for the BEST ENDING CREDITS SONG EVER.

It was the last traditional FF game, complete with a four member party and characters that fit into classic jobs. It was also the last game done by the original creators, so if you have any love for the history of the series (especially the SNES days) IX is a must play.

I blame the people who had only played FF VII and VIII for the lackluster response to IX.

It's more of a Mass Effect thing, but not on the same level. You do get a bunch of cool gear for having and Origins save (ditto for Dead Space 2), but the big thing is seeing your decisions affect the world. But I'm pretty sure you need a cleared save of Origins for that, so if you're not planning on finishing it you could go with either version.
