Bits and Pieces

Ihate to say this, but I've never played a Tales game at all.  I still remember looking at the jewel case for Tales of Destiny for $20 new back when Game Stop was Electronics Boutique and saying to myself "eh, I'll pick it up sometime down the road", not relealizing that there would be sooooo many sequels.  And now, I just feel like I'm too far behind on the series.

It's always fun hearing about your adventures in nature.  You truly are a ranger, girl.

Thanks!  I was a bit shy at the thought of sharing this kind of music, because I know that most don't like it enough to really get into it.  Buty I'm happy that you are enjoying the tunes Laughing

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Review

Great review Julian.  As the first comment said-- it's nice to read a Zelda review that isn't super heavy on praise (though it earns its merrits).  I'm really ready to get into this game. I just need to buy it.

Dude, I totally get where you're coming from.  I can't play sequels to games that I haven't finished if I happen to own them.  I'm still in the middle of Final Fantasy 7...and I'm about to restart it from scratch if I forget what I was doing.

You'll get around to Crysis whenever you darn well please.

I learned about this game last year.  It's the sequel to this other GB game called Maru's Mission.  I've never played either of these games, but they look fun enough.

You're a BaD person.

Nice emulator you got there.  Hey, do you if there are any Dreamcast emulators for the PC?  I'm too lazy to Google it right now.

Kong a Day #7 - Jumpman is Jumping, Man

Posted on 02/08/2014 at 11:04 AM | Filed Under Blogs

My first experience with jumping in a game was with Super Mario Bros.  But soon after he got his NES, my brother (coincidentally also named Mario) came home with Donkey Kong too. And, needless to say, Mario's limited jump confused the heck out of me.

But thinking back to it original release in the arcade, it kind of makes sense.  If this was the first game to feature the mechanic of jumping, my guess is that Miyamoto designed the game with a bit of realism in mind.  After all, anyone would die if landed from a height greater than the body can sustain.  Never thought about the game's design until now.

Come to think of it, Sunsoft did the same thing with the Blaster Master series.
