I will probably download SoR4 at some point. I liked River City Girls, which I've always said was the closest we ever got to having a Project A-Ko video game, that being one of my favorite anime movies.
I had the opposite reaction to FF7. I got FF6 on SNES and really enjoyed it, and one of the things about the N64 that disappointed me the most was the complete lack of RPGs on it, and almost all of the ones that were announced for it getting cancelled.
FF7 simply blew me away in a way that no game had ever done before, except maybe the original Zelda and A Link to the Past. I loved the non-medieval, modern industrial/corporate setting and the designs for the characters and the environments. It was a breath of fresh-air from the ad-nauseam Tolkien tropes most of the RPGs I'd played up that point sported. I bought a ton of RPGs for the PS1: SaGa Frontier, Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Breath of Fire, Lunar 1 and 2, and of course all the other Final Fantasy games they put out, but FF7 still stands out to me.
Now, the Switch is an RPG-lovers paradise. I've got so many RPGs on Switch that it isn't even funny. Heck, I even have all three of the PS1 Final Fantasy games. And Dragon Quest XI is amazing.
Speaking of Gals Fighters, did you ever play SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy?
