Yeah, apparently they were going to make a sequel, but the sales for the game weren't very good, so no sequel. 

The art style is great. And the amiibo (and Mega Man's design for SSB) perfectly captures that classic NES look. 

I don't blame you, MM games are some of the most difficult. I have played many of them, but I've only beat one, of which I am very proud. 

Matt, go play it! And you should never "fiddle" with Metroid! lol

It looked like another game in the series, but it was indeed a remake. And why would anyone play the original when you could just play this instead?

Whoa, that would be awesome! WayForward could pull off both. They've proven that they know how to make great 2D action games. 

Holy cow, I guess it is! 3D Metroid games are great, but I'm hoping the next one we get is a 2D game. What I don't want is another spin-off game!

Games in 1986 usually weren't very long. The fact that Zero Mission gave you the map certainly helped it to move along faster. I'm sure that the shortness of the game was the factor which caused them to add the zero suit part at the end. 

Great suggestion. I (sadly) have not played La Mulana, but if it's as good as you say, I'll have to try it out. Axiom Verge is also supposed to be a great Metroidvania game. 

Looks great! I love the cartoon! I remembering loving the old Donald Duck comics. Disney comics are usually pretty good.
