Episode 18: Sony's World

Posted on 03/08/2013 at 03:18 PM | Filed Under Feature

I think Patrick was referring to Yoshi's Story, not Yoshi's Island. SMW2: Yoshi's Island is a damn hard game, Yoshi's Story was a HUGE let down. I also beat it in a day and it was pretty much the worst birthday present ever (not by anyone's fault).

GLaD 8: Korg DS-10, Music from 50s to Now, TGIF

There's definitely a learning curve for the KORG DS-10 Synth, but my god, once you get it that game is awesome. I had a great time putting together some electronic tunes and it only made me crave a better means to continue to make that type of music. Maybe I'll grab Fruity Loops or something like that one of these days.

Glad to help! I love that you guys are using all of this stuff and are giving some great constructive feedback of exactly how it can be improved. That really makes it much easier for me because I know exactly what I have to do.

I've been trying to finish up private messaging and notifications for when followers post a blog or someone responds to a comment you wrote, but things are still crazy for me, what with the new job, moving into a new place (moving truck is coming today), and selling my place down in FL. We'll get there soon!

Filling in my collection

I'll add these to the list of improvements I'll be working on. I can probably fix the add 3 issue pretty quickly. The plain text list is pretty simple - go to Notepad (or any other text editor) and list each game on their own line. Save the file and upload it via the little Paper with the plus icon link and they'll all be in there.

Also, if you can give me a list of all the systems you need added, I can get that done for you very quickly and easily. I kind of built the game collection thing for selfish reasons (read: to track my own collection), so the list of systems is basically limited to ones that I have games on.

[UPDATED] inXile Hopes to Kickstart Torment

Doesn't look like they really need to hope - they're going to be funded today if things continue at this rate. Anybody care to speculate on what dollar amount they end up at? I'm saying $4,760,000, because... well, because why not?

Random stuff 3/5/13

Uncharted 1 can definitely be a bit of a grind. I happened to play it after the second and I was a bit dismayed by just how much fighting there was. Also, it doesn't get any easier as the game presses onward.

The enemies at the end are an absolute nightmare and all of the headshotting techniques you've perfected over time no longer do you much good. Pretty much every enemy in the game is a bullet sponge, but I'm glad to say that they really improved that the second time around.

Uncharted 2 is a MUCH better game all around and 3 continues that trend, even if it doesn't quite measure up to 2. There's more of all the stuff that makes the series great and less shooting. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of shooting there (probably just a bit more than there needs to be). All around though, it's much more evenhanded.

What Do You Do For a Living?

Very cool - I had a feeling based on your user name. I imagine it must be nice getting to spend days outside, at least when it's nice out. If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the things you do day to day?

Ever wonder what I do? Anthing I want, I am retired!

Wow... that sucks man. Glad to hear that you caught that issue before it really ended poorly. Heart problems are scary stuff, my family has some bad history with them, so I'm hoping I'm not doomed for the same fate.

On a brighter note, thanks on the site, glad to have you here!

Happy birthday, sir! Perhaps I should avoid mentioning that you now have 20 years on me Wink.

Retired!? Color me jealous. However, it's totally awesome that you can be home with your girls. Also metal is great and I'm glad you do those Metal Monday blogs - I need to start getting into some new stuff and that should definitely help.

I've got two boys (a 2 year old and a 2 month old) - Chessa is a stay-at-home mom right now, which I'm thankful for, but it sure would be nice for me to have some more time with them. Maybe if PixlBit really starts raking in cash I'll be able to work out of the house - that would be all sorts of fantastic.
