Yeah, me neither before this one. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. As a creator, I like the idea of being able to get backers to fund my dream project, but as a backer, you're basically investing in something with no real return on investment. Best case scenario is you get the product you paid for, whereas, as an investor or venture capitalist, you'd stand to make a financial gain if the project became popular, like the Oculus Rift, when it was bought by Facebook for $2 billion. Both backers and investors took the same risk (obviously on a different scale), but backers weren't due any financial gains. It just doesn't seem right to me.
I also am not impressed with how Mighty No. 9 is turning out (though I was never a huge Mega Man fan), especially considering the amount of money they made (and then they asked for even more!), so the thought did cross my mind that Bloodstained could similarly disappoint me when it finally comes out. However, this is what I've wanted since IGA was taken off the Castlevania series, so I just had to give him my support.
