Bloodstained

Console and PC gamers aren't that different.  They all appreciate great games, they just have different priorities on how those games are delivered (digital vs physical, 4k vs 1080p, couch vs office chair, controllers vs keyboard).  Some games just play better on a console, and some play better on PC, but there's a lot of overlap.  As consoles become increasingly similar to PCs, the differences between the two camps will disappear as well.  Then they'll just go back to bickering over hardware manufacturers.

Yeah, Vita games aren't produced for very long or in large quantities, I'd imagine.  At least it's coming out on that system.  That's one good thing about Kickstarter.  They can offer Wii U or Vita ports as stretch goals.  Otherwise they probably wouldn't even consider those platforms.

I wasn't going to do it, but after visiting the page and seeing everyone who was involved (including David Hayter!), I just had to give my support.  It really seems like they are putting a lot of energy into this project.  I'm sure IGA is thrilled after being mistreated by Konami for the last few years.  I was worried about game length, since the digital copy is $28 like you said, but supposedly the map will be larger than any of his Castlevanias, so it should be worth the money (I hope).

Yes, I think it will be PS4 exclusive.  I think technical issues may have been a factor in its long development cycle (Team Ico's inability to get it to run satisfactorily on PS3), but it's a shame that people who may have bought a PS3 just for the game may not even get to play it unless they buy a PS4.  Having said that, I really hope it's coming to PS4--I need another great game on there.

Yeah, me neither before this one.  I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.  As a creator, I like the idea of being able to get backers to fund my dream project, but as a backer, you're basically investing in something with no real return on investment.  Best case scenario is you get the product you paid for, whereas, as an investor or venture capitalist, you'd stand to make a financial gain if the project became popular, like the Oculus Rift, when it was bought by Facebook for $2 billion.  Both backers and investors took the same risk (obviously on a different scale), but backers weren't due any financial gains.  It just doesn't seem right to me.

I also am not impressed with how Mighty No. 9 is turning out (though I was never a huge Mega Man fan), especially considering the amount of money they made (and then they asked for even more!), so the thought did cross my mind that Bloodstained could similarly disappoint me when it finally comes out.  However, this is what I've wanted since IGA was taken off the Castlevania series, so I just had to give him my support.

Unbreakable--was that the one with Bruce Willis and Sam L Jackson?  I remember thinking it was pretty good when I saw it.  It was no Sixth Sense, but it was still better than a lot of Shyamalan's later movies.  I read a lot of comics as a teenager (and still buy some every now and then), so the subject matter appealed to me.  I haven't seen it in years, so I don't know if I'd still like it today.

I recently bought the "Art of He-Man" art book from Dark Horse.  It was phenomenal and took me back to my childhood.  The memories were buried so deeply I wasn't even sure at first if I had really seen some of that artwork as a kid, or if I was just imagining things.

I could grow up all over again!  I could start with Atari,  play with my old GI Joe toys to represent the crash years, and pick up with the NES lol.

Maybe if Japanese companies would still make console games, instead of shifting to handheld and mobile, people would buy more consoles.  Crazy, I know.
