Mike's Big Music Blog: Part 2

Posted on 12/19/2014 at 09:46 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Aww yiss, this was seriously an excellent collection of songs and I don't know which one I liked the most.

I do have some observations. Sabaton is one i'm starting to really love and i'm interested on the many historical war songs they have. Turisas is also one I should check more, though curiously the first song i've heard of them was their parody cover of Rasputin. Loved the voice of the singer in that Dark Moor song. The Sword is a band I knew for quite the years and they are incredible. Of course there's no question that Mastodon became a favorite of mine.

I really enjoyed both blogs Mike. Now i'm curious for what you'll post in the future music wise.

I noticed here your progression from soft to heavy.

Very excellent song selection Mike. My personal standouts were the offerings of Plini, CHON, To Cast a Shadow and Edenbridge. The first two had excellent guitar work and just sounded beautiful to listen, like, you can relax and let your imagination flow. That they might be also close to Progressive Rock also help. The other two offerings were also my favorites, one part because of the female vocalist and the other because each set a very nice mood. Set Afire a sort of slow and moody feeling that sometimes relaxes and Move Along Home good ol' Symphonic Metal.

Off to the second part!

It is very fun. It does have quite a big learning curve even with a tutorial.

Peter, I said you could only walk, not even the games allows for water exploration :P

Though I should have mentioned that here. That's also a small problem of sometimes not letting the player explore more.

I took a look and it seems you don't have Dear Esther.

Looking forward to the GOTY articles.

I think I have a bit more hours on Bastion due to taking my time in the weapon challenges.

I can understand if people don't like Hotline Miami and I respect Julian on that, though it kinda irked that he calls the game "mindless" since Hotline Miami is anything but that.

I think i've seen those that don't like the game that much do it for the reasons Julian doesn't either instead of the violence (but that can also be a contributing factor).

I kinda knew you wouldn't like this kind of games since i've seen you prefer gameplay much more. Still, hoping to get The Stanley Parable, maybe on this current Steam sale.
