Feeling a bit under the weather today, the dog is whining at me for no discernable reason, the cat pooped on the floor next to the litter box because there was one nugget in the box already (she's such a frigging princess sometimes!), and stupid Amazon still hasn't shipped my game that I pre-ordered. So no real blog from me today.
This is and it isn't a game-related blog entry. It's more about community and friendship and strangers performing acts of kindness than gaming. I was reminded of this when reading the caption of a photo in my Photo A Day group on Facebook a few minutes ago. I belong to several online communities and have made friends with people I may never get to meet in person from all over the world. On more than one occasion, I have received something - a kind message, a card, a gift, a phone call - for no reason other than kindness on the other person's part. GH sent me a game after my dad died and I was really depressed. A friend won a shawl in a silent auction and sent it to me after a particularly bad event in my life. Another friend wrote a poem about my first dog after we'd had to have him put down and another friend wrote a fiddle tune for him. Yet another kind stranger sent me a box of shortbread teddy bears from Orkney. None of these people has ever asked for anything in return, it was just an act of kindness. And my cameras were both gifted to me by a friend who felt I had potential as a photographer.
Well Hello fellow Pixlbit users, it is a breezy day here in So Cal, and we are waiting for this “storm” (by storm I mean a constant drizzle or as local news calls it STORM WATCH 2014). For today’s Grab Bag it’s a couple of random items that popped into my head while grabbing lunch
So Before the last day of BaD I figured I'd take the time to point out that the Wii is now officially a dead system (Well duh I knew that!" You're probably thinking). But despite some rumors Nintendo still has the wi-fi kicking...until now. Nintendo is pulling the plug on Nintendo Wi-Fi for Japan on both the DS and Wii. Now this will have some significance because it will more than likely hit worldwide as well. But what exactly does this mean?
Now that I have the Galaxy S4 I have place to put my Android games. I'm not really a cell phone or Tablet gamer but I bought Final Fantasy Dimensions when it was on sale and I bought a Humble Bundle in which the games can be downloaded for either Windows or Android.
