Our Take

Everything in the video is looking really sharp, without even having the 3D effect. Of course, everything looked great at E3 too, so that's not entirely surprising.

In a lot of ways, the release of the 3DS seems almost like the release of a new home console rather than a portable one. I feel as if the gap between the two has finally been bridged for Nintendo. The games being released are very much home console style games, and the graphics finally match up to that as well. As such, I'm curious to see how big of a splash the system makes at release. It seems like it's going to be huge, but one never knows.

I'm just worried about what I read on battery life. Otherwise the games look good, and hopefully some of them will also play well.

I'm a bit worried about that too, Caliban. Nintendo does have a history of low-balling battery life, so I'd imagine it'll last an hour or two more than what they say, but it's still a little brief. I'm more surprised at the battery life of the platform for DS/DSi games. Since that's still low, I'm a little curious about the strength of the battery, in general.

Also, unlike the DS and the DSi, this isn't a console you can charge and play at the same time, I don't believe. That might be the most meaningful issue, right there.

Looks like the video was taken off of YouTube, copyright claim by Nintendo. got another source? Would love to see what is to come. :)

I'll keep my eyes open. I pretty much stumbled onto this one. Thanks for pointing out it's removal, though. I'll edit the title to reflect that.
