Further Proof of Okamiden 3DS?

After doing some more poking around on the Capcom press site, I discovered something interesting.

As many of you know by now, I programmed the PixlBit website and professionally and educationally, I am a programmer. More specifically, a web application programmer. Needless to say, I know a thing or two about the construction of online interfaces, as well as the databases that back them. With this knowledge, I did some elementary snooping into the front end html and request strings for the Capcom press site to find out as much as I could about last night's interesting Okamiden 3DS posting.

As Nate pointed out in his article, Okamiden is listed twice on the web site, once for the DS and once for the 3DS. Typically, as people add data to a database, they use what's called an incrementing primary key to keep track of each unique entry in the database. Capcom's press site seems to obey this development paradigm and they use said key to call up information for each individual game.

Getting to the point, Okamiden DS has a key 206, while Okamiden 3DS has a key 256, meaning they likely weren't added around the same time, as fifty titles sit between them.

Knowing that the Capcom site uses this key to identify titles, I simply incremented the number by one each time to see what titles came up between the two titles. Here's an abridged version of my results starting at 244:

244 - Mega Man Legends 3

245 - Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

246 - Dead Rising 2: Case West

247+248 - Asura's Wrath (360&PS3)

249+250 - DMC (360&PS3)

251 - MaXplosion

252 - Zombie Cafe

253 - Herman the Hermit

254 - Devil May Cry 4 Refrain

255 - Who Wants to be a Millionaire 2011

256 - Okamiden 3DS

As you may already notice from the results, all of those titles are fairly new and have been released recently or will see release in the near future.

Here's the real doozy: The last added title in the entire system is Okamiden 3DS. No other titles have been added after it as of this posting. Even more telling, the Okamiden DS listing and Okamiden 3DS listing are linked.

Now, of course, this can still be a complete accident/mistake, but it seems awfully coincidental that the last added title in the system is Okamiden 3DS and it appears to be intentionally linked up to the other Okamiden posting that appeared 50 titles ahead of it.

At this point, I'm leaning more towards this being a legitimate addition to the database and not a mere accident. We'll have more if the story develops.

UPDATE: The listing for Okamiden 3DS has been removed from the Capcom press site. Not sure if that means something or not, but clearly they don't want any more publicity around its listing.

I just went and checked back on the Capcom website for ID 256. That particular page leads to nowhere still and entries have been placed after it. Not sure if that means anything, but I just figured I'd share the update.
