PixlTalk Episode 32, Side B: 2.0 Launch Special

Side B of our 3 sided launch extravaganza includes talk of level 100 carrots, MMO failures and bitching about 3D, micro transactions and everything in between

In the second part of our PixlTalk 2.0 launch series, Nate hosts with Matt R, Stanton and Jason H sitting in for a talk concerning modern gaming.

After speaking of 2.0 site projects the crew jumps right into the bitching, with complaints about 3DS and the 3D movement in general. While talking about the Ocarina of Time 3DS title, Nate complains that Miyamoto jacked his dreams. Stanton also hates on Zelda 2.

After laughing at Sony and PSN for its month-long blackout the team starts bitching yet again about MMOs, micro transaction, and the floundering title 'APB'. Somehow the conversation goes from micro transactions to people bragging about their level 100 carrots in Rune Factory (and you thought talks of level 100 Pikachus were bad). After bitching about Harvest Moon and Rune Factory the conversation wraps up with bitching about water worlds and water temples (notice the rolling trend in this episode).

Someone get me a transcript of the section where Nate talks about forcing his sister to play with him. Out of context it'll be absolute gold. Actually, in context it's pretty much gold too. (See around 40 mins in)

I actually got in trouble for that incident. I was deemed unfit to babysit my younger sister and grounded for a while too. This is the one that is only 3 years younger than me, not the 12 year old sister.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
