Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand DLC Coming Soon

PS3 owners get a week long head start on the online mayhem.

Battlefield 3 will be getting its first major DLC pack soon, but if you own it on PlayStation 3, you’ll get it even sooner. That’s part of EA making nice with PS3 owners who didn’t get their promised free copy of Battlefield 1943 with their new purchase of BF 3. The official release date for “Back to Karkand” is December 13, with the PS3 version launching on December 6.

Back to Karkand features four maps that made appearances in older Battlefield games, but of course completely remade with the power of the Frostbite 2 engine. If you purchased the limited edition of Battlefield 3, you already own this content and just need to download it when it goes live. If you have the regular edition of BF 3, this map pack will run you $15, or 1200 Microsoft Points.
