Assassin's Creed III Outed and Dated
You'll be getting another dose of Assassin's Creed sooner than later.
Are you ready for another installment of Assassin’s Creed? With the latest installment shipping 7 million units, Ubisoft certainly thinks so and have now officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed III will be arriving sooner than previously estimated.
We had previously reported that we were expecting a new major release in the franchise this year. The company not only confirmed that this is indeed the case, but also that the title will be called Assassin’s Creed III and that it will be arriving on October 30, 2012.
“We will push the title a lot because it’s a fantastic product that the team has been working on for three years,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in a call with investors. “What we have seen is just fabulous.”
Very few details were provided, but we do know that the game will star a new protagonist – presumably concluding Desmond’s story arc as was indicated by Guillemot previously.
Platforms have not been confirmed at this time, but it can be assumed that the game will release on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as the previous game had. A Wii U release is possible since it was previously announced that an Assassin’s Creed game is headed to Nintendo’s next console.
