Square Enix licensed the Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games for a number of titles. Which titles, Square has not announced. However, some details have been leaked online. A report is saying that Dragon Quest IX producer Ryutaro Ichimura is working on one of these games.

Battlefield 3 Sells 8 Million

A patch is also coming out to address some issues.

Battlefield 3 was EA's biggest day-one shipment with 10 million units and sold 5 million in its first week available. Since its October 27 launch, it appears that the title has continued to sell well. EA has announced that it sold an additional 3 million during the month of November and that has increased the total sales number to 8 million, with total number of titles shipped increased to 12 million.

New Content Coming to Forza Motorsport 4

A deal with IGN is bringing new cars in December.

10 brand new cars are coming to Forza Motorsport thanks to a deal between Turn 10, Microsoft Studios, and IGN. The new pack called the December IGN pack will cost 560 MS points (or $7) and will be released on December 6, 2011. If you bought the Forza Motorsport 4 Season Pass, the content will be free.

Gearbox Looking For a Real-Life Lilith

Gearbox is developing a sequel to their sleeper hit Borderlands and now they have announced a casting call for someone who looks like Lilith from the first game. If hired, this person will appear in the game as a live action version of the character. Afterward, they may also be able to participate in promotional events and trade shows.

Jurassic Park: The Game Review

TellTale’s signature style doesn’t do this aging franchise any favors.

The catastrophe that occurred on Isla Nublar back in 1993 was a classic example of Murphy’s Law in action.  Everything that could go wrong did go wrong and it did so with spectacular results that have deeply imbedded themselves in the brains of many a movie goer, including your humble reviewer.  Even though it's been nearly 20 years since it was released I can’t help but smile every time I hear the first few notes of John Williams’ iconic score.  Welcome to Jurassic Park, please don’t feed the animals.

Rumor: Dead Space FPS Coming Soon?

EA seeks to expand a brand by possibly diluting the product.

EA has been really trying to turn Visceral Games’ Dead Space franchise into a major brand.  In addition to the fantastic sequel that was released earlier this year, the Dead Space name has been popping up on comic books, animated films, a novelization and the franchise spin-off on-rails shooter Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii and PlayStation 3.  But if a source cited by Kotaku is to be believed, EA is gearing up for some major expansion of the survival horror franchise.

UPDATE: PSN Firmware Update 4.00 Available Now

The patch paves the way for the beginning of the age of Vita.

With the impending launch of the PlayStation Vita in Japan this December and the European and North American launch coming shortly after this upcoming February, Sony has begun to make preparations to ensure that the PSP successor is well supported right out the gate.  Along with an ever growing list of launch titles, Sony will be releasing a new PS3 system software update (version 4.00 for those keeping score at home) to accommodate the handheld's cross platform and content management capabilities.

Rumor: Dante's Inferno 2 in the Works?

Former Assassin's Creed 2 writer possibly continuing the virtual Divine Comedy.

As we get to the end of 2011 and start our Game of the Year Deliberations, the industry at large is starting to peek into the future. We can expect plenty of big games, be they remakes, new IPs, or sequels. One of those sequels could very well be part two of the Divine Comedy. That is, a sequel to the 2009 release of Dante’s Inferno by Visceral Games.
