Alien Breed 3: Descent Review

A decent game released at the worst possible time.

What is it with the engineer being the badass in sci-fi games? I don’t understand where this precedent comes from and it is really starting to make me question the military occupation specialty selection process being used by future militaries. “So I see here you have an incredible survival instinct, natural aptitude with firearms and inhuman reflexes. Have you considered fixing engines son?”

NBA Jam Review

Improved controls and an online mode give the HD versions of NBA Jam a leg up on the Wii title.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has many fond memories spent playing countless hours of the original NBA Jam titles. The over-the-top antics were undoubtedly the attraction; breaking the backboard, playable mascots, the Clintons, "Boom-shaka-laka", "He's on Fire!", rampant fouling, and fast-paced down-to-the-second gameplay. All of it is back in this latest edition of the series now under the control of EA Sports after the closing of originator, Midway.

Fable III Review

Whether choosing to be good or evil, Fable III offers a solid quest, immersion, and plenty of variety.

I don't have much experience with Fable, other than three hours of unimpressed play with the very original. So for all intents and purposes I went into my playtime with Fable III completely unhindered by any past biases, and I must admit, I loved what I found. The gameplay is a wonderful combination of varied experiences that allow players to explore a torn world in any way they desire. There's dozens of quests to take on, hundreds of people to meet, an unbelievably expansive and diverse universe to explore, and a great combat system. Best of all, those aspects are simply scraping the surface of why Fable III is an unbelievable experience from beginning to…well, right before it ends.

Sonic Colors Review

Wisp powers and good level design make this the best Sonic release of the year.

Having had the opportunity to play all of this year's Sonic games, it's unquestionable that Sonic Colors on the DS is the best of the whole lot. This may come as a surprise to some, especially when one of the titles released constituted the fourth part of the mainline series. However, the adventure created by Dimps this time around far surpasses the currently competing Sonic titles, as well as their past work on both Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure.

Thanks goes to the Wii homebrew community for whipping up the Ocarina cheat code.

By now, you've probably already heard that Donkey Kong Country Returns has some inescapable motion control. Crafting Mama Review

Boring project ideas and overdone mini-games make this one of the weakest entries into the Mama series.

The once expert chef, Mama, has become versatile over the years, expanding her skill repertoire to include gardening, and even babysitting. One of Mama's latest ventures has her creating homemade goods in Crafting Mama, a title that follows classic Cooking Mama convention, without any added frills.
