Resistance Collection Leaked, Uncharted 3 GOTY Edition Announced

PlayStation 3 owners can look forward to the comprehensive collection of Insomniac's mainline Resistance games, as well as a complete edition of Uncharted 3.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Resistance 3 were both released last holiday season to critical acclaim and positive reviews. If you happened to have missed them, Sony will be sweetening the deal if you're in the market for a purchase. An Amazon listing has revealed a collection of the three PS3 Resistance games, which comes alongside an official Sony announcement of a Game of the Year edition of Uncharted 3.

Insomniac Bids Adieu to the Chimera

The studio that birthed Spyro and Ratchet & Clank is done with Resistance.

Resistance 3 was a great game and a fitting end to a trilogy that Insomniac started with the launch of the PlayStation 3.  While it was a critical darling, the shooter wasn’t as successful at the register, selling roughly half the copies of its predecessor.  Low sales aren’t keeping Sony from having developer Nihilistic Software bring the series to the PlayStation Vita in the form of Resistance: Burning Skies, but as far as Insomniac is concerned they’re done with the franchise.

Resistance Site Down Due To Hackers

In the latest attack from hackers, MyResistance.net is taken down due to the site serving up malware.

Insomniac Games has taken down the official site for the Resistance franchise for maintenance after an alleged hacker attack resulted in the distribution of malware to visitors. Although not verified, hackers are the likely culprits, especially after the recent Steam hack. The site itself is owned by Sony with Insomniac providing moderation and content support.

Resistance: Fall of Man Review Rewind

The end of mankind has never been so fun.

When I originally learned that Insomniac Games, the minds behind Spyro the Dragon and the Ratchet and Clank series were planning a new IP for the launch of the PlayStation 3, I was pretty excited. When they revealed that it was going to be a gritty first person shooter my excitement waned a bit as skepticism started to take over. You see, it was the beginning of the FPS wave that would soon flood the market. It made sense that Sony was getting in on the action with the Killzone series, but I was surprised that the guys at Insomniac were heading down a path that had been travelled down so many times that it was more like a super highway. I wanted something more original than what looked like was coming. Sony only added pressure by marketing the game as their “killer app” – that must-have title that was supposed to push systems out the door and into the living rooms of nerds like myself.
