PixlBit's 2011 Supplemental Awards

Just when you thought awards season was over...

Last month we announced our Game of the Year award winners by genre, platform and overall game of the year, but we weren’t through showcasing the best that 2011 had to offer.  With so many games deserving of the moniker Game of the Year we have decided to expand our awards ceremony into 2012 with the 2011 Supplemental Awards.  These awards seek to recognize games that excelled in a specific area whether it be through technical achievement, sheer enjoyability or utter disappointment.

Super Street Fighter IV Balancing Tweaks Announced

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012 continues its push to become the longest titled Capcom fighting game.

Capcom has been known to go back to the well over and over when it comes to their fighting game franchises, and that hasn’t changed for the current generation. We have seen the second release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in less than a year, and Street Fighter IV saw its third iteration this past June. Not long after that, Capcom announced yet another update to the popular Street Fighter sequel, but the company was quick to state that this version, dubbed Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012, would be a free upgrade. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Review

The latest entry in the Street Fighter IV series is controversial, yet improves the game in necessary areas.

While this game has been out in arcades for at least six months now, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition has finally made it on to home consoles after much demand. Aside from the four new characters and controversial balance changes, Capcom went the extra mile to add to the online experience with some unnecessary, but valued and interesting features. Does Arcade Edition have what it takes to warrant a purchase, or is it just another useless DLC?
