Sony unveils a new PlayStation Store, THQ closes its Australian offices, and Capcom announces a classic Darkstalkers collection
While not the busiest week in gaming news, a few big stories managed to drop over the last week. Click through for the three biggest stories for the week of October 8:

Closure has been haunting gamers since its release, and it’s easy to see why. A two dimensional, monochromatic platformer almost entirely shrouded in darkness, this game has the ability to teach all of its players how to see the light.
With the completion of Unit 13, the internal development studio has been shuttered.
Since 2006, Zipper Interactive has been a part of the Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios family. After being acquired, the team went on to create SOCOM 4, MAG, and most recently, Unit 13. With that title completed, Sony has now confirmed closure of the studio. This news comes roughly one week after rumors were circulating that the studio was already in the process of being disbanded.
Layoffs have already begun and the company is deep in debt.
Dark Energy Digital, the company behind Hydrophobia, may be seeing its final days. Joystiq is reporting that the developer has already begun laying off employees and is deeply in debt.
Namco Bandai has absorbed the developer of the Tales RPG series.
Tales Studio, the developer responsible for the Tales series of RPGs since 1995's Tales of Phantasia, has been closed by parent company Namco Bandai. Although a reason wasn't given, Tales Studio has been having financial problems for some time and bankruptcy rumors have been floating around throughout 2011.
