More of a Descension than Ascension.
God of War: Ascension is a game that I had a hard time getting excited for. For me, God of War 3, capped off the saga of Kratos on the right note. It was bittersweet to see the story end, but it did so on an epic (and violent) note. Instead of the series continuing with a new protagonist or mythology, we have a prequel to a story that I felt pretty comfortable with already. Ascension ends up being a sadly mediocre game, and I expected more.

Hello again! Julian here, joined as always by Patrick and Rob for another episode of Nerds Without Pants. No topic this time...we decided to just wing it with some random discussion. Yes, a hodge podge of talking points brought together to form a pleasant bouquet. Some potpourri, if you will. We can all enjoy a little P O T. We've already shown you some of the biggest games coming this year, as well as some brand-new titles that certainly look interesting. Now, the attention of our 2013 sneak preview turns to some tried and true titles. These are some old friends, coming back to say hello.
Online and offline multiplayer, a first for the series, will be included.
Despite the latest in the God of War series being officially revealed, no details were made available upon release of the news. Known only to be a prequel title, a few more details have firmed up what players can expect from the upcoming game. Most notably, God of War: Ascension will feature a first for the series - online and offline multiplayer.
