New Play Control! Pikmin 2 Finally Coming to America

Nicalis Bringing 1001 Spikes to 3DS, Wii U

The XBLIG remake is shooting for a Wii U launch release.

An enhanced version of the Xbox Live Indie Game,  Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes will be coming to the 3DS and Wii U, according to Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis. The upgraded port will be known as 1001 Spikes and currently the title has no set release date. The 3DS eShop version of the game will launch first, with the Wii U version to expectedly launch alongside the system.

Nintendo Showing Mario Wii U Game At E3

The title is confirmed to be an updated version of last year's New Super Mario Bros. Mii.

An expired license is said to be the culprit.

The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the Nintendo Entertainment System used to be available on the Wii Virtual Console. Unfortunately, due to an "expired license", that's no longer the case as the title has been removed from the service.

January Sales Down 34% From 2011

No new games are to blame for the lame sales figures.

The NPD group announced that its January sales figures and consumer spending on video games fell 34% to $750.6 million in the US. Hardware sales totaled $324 million, down 38% year over year. According to G4, these are the worst sales figures since January 2004.

Nintendo Reveals New Club Nintendo Rewards

Dr. Mario, Kirby, and Majora's Mask have been swapped out of the rotation.

Today, Nintendo made available two new Club Nintendo awards, each clocking in at 150 coins. Both Art Academy: First Semester and Mario Party 2 are now available for redemption until the end of the month, February 29. The two titles supplant last month's four choices, which included The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Dr. Mario Online Rx, Dr. Mario Express, and Kirby's Dream Land.

Newton vs. The Horde Review

Occasionally humorous dialog can't prop up this mundane venture.

Physics simulations have always made for fun playgrounds; whether you're just tossing objects into stacks of blocks or using the elasticity effect to rocket an object across the screen, it's mindless destructive fun. Logic would dictate that tossing in a few game objectives would make for an instantly enjoyable game, but with Newton vs. The Horde the resulting product is the exact opposite.
