Bioware Working on Command & Conquer Generals 2

Bioware's latest is certainly a departure, but nothing along the lines of a new Uncharted-like game.

It appears we can put two rumors to bed. Command & Conquer Generals 2 is officially coming and it's also Bioware's brand new project - a departure from their typical RPG work. Not much else is known about the game right now, but more information is likely on the way in the upcoming week.

Dragon Age 2 Review

Proof positive that you need longer than 18 months to make a follow up to a great RPG.

Fabled RPG developer BioWare has seen great success with their two original IPs during this console generation. These releases are on opposite ends of the spectrum: Mass Effect is a grand sci-fi space opera that melds role playing with action, while Dragon Age is an epic fantasy that feels more at home on the PC. This dichotomy was the most evident with 2010's release of Mass Effect 2, a game that many considered to be the best release of the year, and yet it did away with most of the role playing elements that put BioWare on the map. It was hard to tell where Dragon Age 2 would fall in the BioWare pantheon. Would it hold onto the deep RPG roots of Dragon Age: Origins, or would it be an action game with branching dialogue trees, like Mass Effect 2? The answer, as with most things, lies somewhere in the middle. But we'll come back to that in a moment.

Mario Kart 7 Review

A blue shell at the finish line knocks it out of first, but you can't complain about finishing in the top three.

After seven entries, it's perfectly understandable to start feeling the fatigue of any series, especially one like Mario Kart where very little changes from entry to entry. However, it's hard to ignore excellence. While Mario Kart 7 is only slightly different, it's so well-executed it should not be overlooked.

The Hidden Review

An augmented reality game that turns the player into a real-life creeper. What could go wrong?

Picking up my pace, trying not to run, but rushing to get safely back home – I glance over my shoulder to see if anything is behind me.  I am freaked out.  Paranoid.  Skittish.  I’m not looking for otherworldly critters or anything, I’m worried I might get arrested or -- at best -- confronted by a pissed off neighbor.  I’ve been skulking around my neighborhood at odd hours and spending minutes at a time spinning in front of strangers’ homes, occasionally taking pictures.  I should be put in the slammer just based on appearances.  But really, I’ve just been playing The Hidden and hating every minute.

New Xbox 360 Dashboard Features Incompatible With Indie Games

The new dashboard obscures the community made titles and hinders their associated abilities.

Now that the new Xbox 360 Dashboard is live, reports are coming in that the new features of the dashboard do not extend to Xbox Live Indie Games. Both beacons and cloud storage saves aren't supported for these titles and unlike both Arcade and retail releases, these do not show up under the New Release section, making them somewhat hidden from view.

The Marketing Genius of Nintendo of America

Was there any real doubt that Xenoblade was coming stateside?

Last Friday, Nintendo of America announced that the Nintendo faithful and loyal supports of Operation Rainfall would be granted one of their longstanding wishes with the stateside release of heralded RPG Xenoblade Chronicles this upcoming April.  The news came at a precarious time for Nintendo. With Skyward Sword having been released this past month, Nintendo’s upcoming release schedule was looking just a little more than barren.
