Nights into Dreams Review

This gorgeous remake deserves better controls.

Nights Into Dreams has unquestionably been treated with love in its transformation into HD. The Japanese exclusive PlayStation 2 version of the game has been upscaled and displayed in wide screen, making the once blocky presentation smooth and vibrant. Even the sprites were upgraded to 3D objects, providing some extra visual flair. Heck, Sega even included a trimmed version of Christmas Nights for good measure. However, the port suffers from the same botched controls found in that PlayStation 2 version of the game and the rough patches of the experience persist despite the loving upgrade.

Quantic Dream Reveals Its Next Project

New PS3 game explores the mystery of death and the supernatural.

Beyond: Two Souls was shown off for the first time at the Sony E3 press conference today in trailer form. While it doesn’t show much, what it does show has some parallels to the impressive "Kara" tech demo from GDC. For starters, Beyond stars American actress Ellen Paige, of Juno and Hard Candy fame. You may remember that the titular Kara was played by Valorie Curry, known for her role in Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

Diabolical Pitch Review

Yet another bizarre and engaging experience from the minds that created No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned.

As with anything that comes out of Grasshopper Manufacture, Diabolical Pitch is an interesting specimen. Taking use of the Kinect, the title melds gesture-based gameplay and your traditional gallery shooter, and tops it off with a bizarre story and setting. Rather than a shot out of the park, the spotty controls make this baseball-themed game a shallow shot to the outfield.
