Shigeru Miyamoto Altering His Role at Nintendo But Not Leaving Big Projects

However, Wired magazine is saying otherwise.

LATEST UPDATE: Wired magazine is defending its reporting of Miyamoto stating he's stepping down, in a statement to G4. Some, including Nintendo, are claiming that this was due to a misunderstanding, perhaps due to a translation error, since Miyamoto spoke in his native Japanese. However, Wired editor Chris Kohler says that the translator was Nintendo's own. “It was Mr. [Yasuhiro] Minagawa; who has been Miyamoto’s translator for a very, very, very long time,” Kohler said. “I did an interview with Miyamoto in 2002, and Mr. Minagawa was Miyamoto’s translator then. It is Nintendo’s translator, not ours.”

The first week of the second crew of the PixlTalk podcast debuts, complete with Vita whining and a hodgepodge of topics to conclude the show.

The Marketing Genius of Nintendo of America

Was there any real doubt that Xenoblade was coming stateside?

Last Friday, Nintendo of America announced that the Nintendo faithful and loyal supports of Operation Rainfall would be granted one of their longstanding wishes with the stateside release of heralded RPG Xenoblade Chronicles this upcoming April.  The news came at a precarious time for Nintendo. With Skyward Sword having been released this past month, Nintendo’s upcoming release schedule was looking just a little more than barren.

Vita Not Limited to a Single Account After All

Seems rumors of the Vita's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

We reported earlier this week that the Vita would be limited to a single PSN account per system and would require a factory reset to swap to another account.  Turns out that isn’t entirely accurate. Sony has stepped forward and clarified that the PSN accounts are bonded to the memory stick and not to the system itself.

Kinect Disneyland Adventures Review

Confirmed: navigating 3D space with Kinect is miserable.

Without ever having been to Disneyland, I can only assume that Frontier has done a spectacular job recreating the iconic park. The virtual representation of the park seems to have everything covered, straight down to themed garbage cans, benches, and vending carts. Despite all the effort, it's held back at every turn by the peripheral that should be immersing you. The fact of the matter is, the Kinect controls are cumbersome and unnecessary and often just don’t work right.
