Wait...Blizzard made games besides WoW, Diablo, and StarCraft?

When talking about Blizzard Entertainment, it’s almost impossible to imagine the company before the creation of their core pillars of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. It’s even more difficult to think of the company making games for home consoles, but in the early 90s both of these unimaginable things were true. Under the original company name of Silicon & Synapse, the house that would be Blizzard produced The Lost Vikings—a beloved side-scrolling puzzle game that fell by the wayside for juggernauts like Warcraft.  We have some love for those quirky Vikings around here, so it was high time for them to get their very own MIA.

More Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC with Lightning on the Way

Check back in May for another Paradigm Shift.

Square Enix has announced the latest batch of planned DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2, which will once again focus on Lightning. In Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess, players will be treated to hidden truths behind the game’s mysterious endings. It will depict the battle between Lightning and Cauis not shown in the main game. Outside of Lightning, the expansion will also rope in Final Fantasy XIII stars, Sazh and Snow.

Maxis Reveals New Sim City at GDC

Tons of details on the title surface simultaneously.

While the Game Developers Conference isn't exactly a press event, it's become an acceptable venue to both announce games and reveal new information. EA and Maxis did just that yesterday with the official reveal of a new Sim City game for the PC, which is set to release in 2013. Alongside the announcement came tons of details about the game, including information on the modes and gameplay features.

Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen Review

It's certainly not the prettiest game on the Vita, but it does offer fleeting moments of fun.

From the moment I booted up Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen, something felt oddly familiar. No, it wasn't because I had played the last game in the series - that title never released in America – it was something else. Visages of Tenchu immediately sprung to mind, and rightfully so, as this was a ninja game from Acquire, the minds behind Tenchu. For those familiar with the Tenchu series, this is a good thing; however, repetition and poor controls ultimately get the better of this experience.

Black Ops 2 Sighted at a Spanish Retail Site

The next Call of Duty title may have been leaked by Fnac.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been leaked by Spanish retailer Fnac. The picture shown here has a listing for the yet to be announced sequel to 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops. Activision hasn't confirmed this title, although they have said that a Call of Duty game will be released this year.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 Review

EA's Total Control mechanics come to Tennis.

Grand Slam Tennis began life exclusively on the Nintendo Wii. While versions were planned for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, they were delayed indefinitely, giving players the choice of only the cartoonish, less realistic version of the game. This year, EA has taken it to a new level with Grand Slam Tennis 2, which offers a much more serious game, complete with a new presentation and control scheme.

Borderlands 2 Implementing Steamworks

All PC versions of the game will include Valve's interface.

2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced a collaboration with Valve to include Steamworks, Valve's framework for games, on all PC versions of Borderlands 2. Steamworks features include Steam Achievements, downloadable content, auto-updating, multiplayer matchmaking, Steam Cloud support and more.

Pre-Order Sniper Elite V2 For Hitler Mission

The extra mission will have you killing the Führer himself, Adolf Hitler.

505 Games has announced that players who pre-order Sniper Elite V2 will be treated to an extra single player mission in which you assassinate Adolf Hitler. Entitled "Kill the Führer", players will snipe the leader of the Nazis while he "is returning from Berchtesgaden to Berlin via his personal train. Players must intercept the train as it waits at the station and take down the Fuhrer as he hastily makes way for the station on foot."
