The ghost of Wii Sports lives on... and on.
Not content to release a "dull and outright boring" 2012 Olympics mini-game collection just for the Wii, Sega was kind enough to spread its time-tested mediocrity to the 3DS.

Re-discover the meaning of birth, this time in 3D.
In 2006, fans of the Tales series were starving for more. Coming off of the surprising success of Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Gamecube were not one, but two titles in the same year. The first, Tales of Legendia went largely ignored for its odd art style and lackluster presentation. The second title was Tales of the Abyss, which seemed like more of the natural progression of what Symphonia had achieved earlier.
Dr. Mario, Kirby, and Majora's Mask have been swapped out of the rotation.
Today, Nintendo made available two new Club Nintendo awards, each clocking in at 150 coins. Both Art Academy: First Semester and Mario Party 2 are now available for redemption until the end of the month, February 29. The two titles supplant last month's four choices, which included The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Dr. Mario Online Rx, Dr. Mario Express, and Kirby's Dream Land.
Showing what the 3DS is capable of.
Resident Evil Revelations is shaping up to be one of the richest titles in the series. It's hard to believe that such a feature packed game could be found on a portable system. If the overall tone of the demo is any indicator, Revelations is on track to be just as important as any of the console entries in the series.
Just in time for Valentine's Day!
Nintendo is releasing a pink 3DS in America, just in time for Valentine's Day. A Pearl Pink edition of the handheld will be available at retail on February 10, 2012. This edition of the 3DS was previously available as a limited edition bundle but will now be available by itself.
Nintendo’s April-December sales recap reveals that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Nintendo’s initial launch of the 3DS may have fallen short of expectations, but the handheld bounced back triumphantly, as three first-party titles easily cleared the million unit milestone. Super Mario 3D Land topped the list selling 5.03 million units worldwide. Mario Kart 7 also did well with 4.57 million units sold worldwide. Finally The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D sold 2.49 million units.
Though there's currently no word on whether it will fall into the "New Super Mario Bros." series.
Though only a minor mention in Nintendo's third quarter investor briefing, it seems yet another 2D side-scrolling Mario game is in the works for the 3DS. According to Nintendo, the two Mario games released in 2011 for the 3DS - Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 - are their centerpiece evergreen titles. That information combined with the overwhelming success of both New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. Wii make a new 2D side-scrolling Mario game an easy call.
A name change and a release window may have been revealed.
Reuters is reporting that Nintendo's successor, the Wii U, will be released at the end of this year. However, it may be released with a different name according to CVG. Come E3 2012 this June, it is rumored that Nintendo will rebrand the Wii's successor.
The cantankerous PSP struts past that Vita whippersnapper.
The Media Create numbers that track video game sales in Japan for the week of January 9th through the 15th are out and present some pretty poor numbers all around. The drop in sales across the board is probably due to the post-holiday retail doldrums. The PS Vita sales numbers are getting the most attention for falling behind the PSP, which isn’t making way for Sony’s newer handheld.
Resident Evil: Revelations will be the first demo available.
Downloadable 3DS demos were mentioned to be a part of the latest firmware update and they are finally making an appearance with the release of the demo for Resident Evil: Revelations tomorrow. Of course all demos will be free of charge.
