These tracks will punch you in the face with their sheer awesomeness!
It's week two of Battle Themes Month here on Digital Mystery Tour! JD opened things up with some great tracks from modern JRPGs. I decided to widen the range a bit, and have some excellent fight music that spans multiple generations and genres. If you enjoy fighting games, you probably know a little something about the EVOlution Championship Series. Even if you don’t, you might want to, as the tournament is not only entertaining to veterans, but also great for newcomers to see what kinds of fighting experiences are out there. This year in particular has a huge amount of variety, with NINE different games being played. Whether you’re into 2D fighters, 3D fighters, super heroes, or technical execution based games, there is something for everyone.

You’ve got your game and you’ve got your character, so the next step is potentially one of the most difficult – learning the basics. At this point, assuming you’ve fiddled around with the game, and at least have a handle on the game’s systems, there is still a lot to learn in terms of playing the game properly. Learning the basics at times makes people feel like they don’t know how to play the game at all. It can be frustrating, but the payoff is well worth it, because not only will it you progress in your game of choice, but it will improve your success rate with many other fighting games.
"Plus" may be a stretch, but this port is at least equal to its source.
Dead or Alive 5 earned my respect with its accessible and fluid combat, healthy challenge, and wealth of single-player content. Following the Plus ports of the first two Ninja Gaidens, DOA5 is Tecmo Koei’s latest re-release to hit the Vita and joins Mortal Kombat and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as another fighting game port done right for Sony’s handheld.
