We can rebuild it. We have the technology.
As video game enthusiasts, we tend to want sequels to be these huge shifts from the previous iteration of a series, sporting tons of new features and locations while retaining the core concepts that made the game fun in the first place. It’s a tall order, and obviously some sequels nail this formula while others miss the mark entirely. Then there are games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which is “just” more of the same mechanics and progression as seen in 2011’s Human Revolution. While there is little to set Mankind Divided apart from its predecessor that isn’t a bad thing, is it?
Don't let the cute article image fool you; this one is filthy!

Fun fact: Angelo and Patrick have bombs in their heads that Julian will detonate if they try to leave.
Welcome to the first “normal” edition of Nerds Without Pants in our new format! No guests this time, as the three Pantsless Ones try on the new segment flow for the first time. NWP is now broken up into three segments: Stage Select, Consumption Junction, and Chrono Crossing. You’ll see a change to our show notes as well, to make things easier for listeners to find. It’s all happening!
It's time to shake things up a bit!
I enjoy watching E3 every year and trying to see the “theme” of each show. From second screen experiences to asynchronous multiplayer, there is always something that ties everything together. For E3 2016 that theme seemed to be that of change. While there may not have been a lot of surprises at this show thanks to a lot of companies pulling out and a record number of leaks, we did see a lot of high profile projects that looked, well, different. So let’s take a look at some of those well-worn properties looking to impress us by shaking things up.
And so is this podcast!
Hey folks! Welcome to another technical issue-laded episode of Nerds Without Pants. Apoligies, but once again the internet has conspired against us, and this episode is not up to our normal standard of quality. Hopefully you stick around though, because there is some good stuff in this episode!
Groundbreaking back then; still pretty good now.
To say the least, 1985 proved to be a very good year for Nintendo. They successfully launched the Nintendo Entertainment System in the U.S., introduced the Super Mario Brothers, and quickly won the love and devotion of many youngsters getting into console gaming for the first time. It wasn’t long before Nintendo became a name synonymous with high quality video game entertainment.
Bet you didn't see this coming!
Hey folks, lookie here! It's a bonus episode of Nerds Without Pants! This was actually part of our pre-show conversation from episode 80, but it ended up being a pretty fun talk about classic RPGs and other things. Basically, Patrick asks Julian and Angelo for some video game purchasing advice, which turns into this whole thing. Yeah, we end up talking a lot about Final Fantasy as is our way, but it's short, sweet, and you just might learn a thing or two. Or not; we're not professors.
Seeing a new episode of NWP is available fills you with determination.
Welcome to 2016, and welcome to the first Nerds Without Pants of that year that I just mentioned! The Pantsless Ones come back from break with all sorts of goodies and games to talk about, so let's just jump into it.
