We can all rest easy now.
Since the Wii U’s unveiling at last year’s E3, many have wondered just exactly how many Wii U GamePads the system would support. Initial showings of the system and game demos always showed just one person using the tablet-like controller, while others playing along used the classic Wii remote controller, which lead many to believe that Nintendo’s new machine would only support a single GamePad. Today those concerns were wiped away.
Cross-play functionality also revealed as well as a couple new characters.
While rumored for a few weeks at this point, Sony made official last night that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be coming to Vita alongside its console counterpart. Like many games available on both platforms, the two will be interoperable in a few interesting ways.
Sony's latest will debut with a special book/game from JK Rowling.
During last night's Sony presentation, the company lifted the veil on their latest work, Wonderbook. Using this generic AR marker, players will be able to read books on the screen and interact with the book in unique ways. The Wonderbook appears to be a platform of sorts as it will host a variety of different books, first and most notably, Book of Spells from JK Rowling.
The portable title will feature the first female protagonist.
The PlayStation Vita is getting Assassin's Creed III, but it won't be the same title appearing on consoles. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will feature the series' first female protagonist and will be released at the same time as the console title this October.
The action-heavy sequel to Conviction is coming in spring 2013.
During Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, Ubisoft pulled the cover off of their latest endeavor in the Splinter Cell series, Blacklist. Once again featuring Sam Fisher, players will find themselves embroiled in a Middle Eastern conflict, wherein Sam is in control of an operative group. The title, which is only known to be coming to the Xbox 360 at this time (though likely coming to other systems as well) will be available spring 2013.

Each and every year E3 brings about the biggest gaming announcements of the year and this year appears to be no exception. With the Wii U coming later this year, the 3DS and Vita picking up steam, and the next generation looming on the horizon, we're surely going to see some megatons dropped. But what will they be?
A collection compiling Hitman 2, 3 and Blood Money may be in the works.
A Hitman HD Collection consisting of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman 3: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money has appeared on 16 Games, an Italian retail site. So far the listing only shows a PlayStation 3 version, will cost €30, or $37, and has a release date of October 15, 2012.
