Does Nintendo steal the show?
With Nintendo's conference behind us, see what the crew thinks of the presentation.
Nintendo revealed some of their Wii U plans and gave us an idea of where they're looking to take their business in the coming months, but they were seemingly holding back. Find out what Nick, Chessa, and Jason thought of the conference, E3 thus far, and the potential challenges of Nintendo's new system when it launches later this year.
This includes WiiWare and Virtual Console games, as well as saves.
Tonight's developer roundtable has brought to light that players will be able to transfer all of their Wii data to their Wii U. Purchased goods from the Wii Shop Channel, namely WiiWare and Virtual Console games, as well as saves can all be brought over.
A Wii U version is also in development.
Another Just Dance game is in development and it's coming to Wii, Xbox 360 Kinect, and PlayStation 3 Move this October. A Wii U version is also being made and will be released during the Wii U's launch window. Just Dance 4 will have more than 40 new songs to dance to, including Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Country and Funk.
We can all rest easy now.
Since the Wii U’s unveiling at last year’s E3, many have wondered just exactly how many Wii U GamePads the system would support. Initial showings of the system and game demos always showed just one person using the tablet-like controller, while others playing along used the classic Wii remote controller, which lead many to believe that Nintendo’s new machine would only support a single GamePad. Today those concerns were wiped away.
The game seeks to impress with its unique touch screen functionality.
Ubisoft's E3 press conference yesterday brought a formal introduction to Michel Ancel's Rayman Origins sequel, Rayman Legends. The game has been confirmed for the Wii U and will utilize the controller's touch screen capabilities, as well as the gyro and motion sensors. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the title currently appears to be exclusive to Nintendo's new system.
Sounds thrilling.
After a tongue-in-cheek teaser for a zombie game during yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation, Ubisoft formally announced "ZombieU" today at E3. The Wii U exclusive will set players in a zombie outbreak on the streets of modern day London as thousands are ravaged by a deadly virus. The first person shooter integrates interactive elements, GamePad controls, multiplayer, and more.
Welcome to Nintendo's foray into social media.
Nintendo has long been criticized on their online strategy – something their attempting to address with both the 3DS and Wii U. While we await a more robust presentation concerning online functionality at Nintendo’s press conference on Tuesday, Sunday’s Nintendo Direct presentation shed some light on what kind of functions we should expect with the revelation of Miiverse.
It looks more than a little familiar and it comes in black too!
The main focus of Nintendo’s pre-E3 video presentation may have been on the newly dubbed Wii U GamePad and some of the online functionalities, but there were a couple of other surprising details slipped in as well – chief among these being the revelation of yet another Wii U controller called, the Wii U Pro Controller.
