Last Wednesday someone somewhere accidentally listed Crysis 3 on Origin.  The listing was, of course, almost immediately pulled down, but the internet never forgets what has been posted on it and soon the gaming media was abuzz with articles like this one.  Later in the day, EA issued a statement that declared, "The best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained.  Stay tuned for more information on April 16^th."  Well, April 16^th is here and EA has delivered on their promise.  So just what did we learn today?

Sony may finally be ready to let the cat out of the bag.

We’re all but positive that Sony plans on releasing a fourth installment in the God of War series.  There have been various leaks and clues that hinted at the game’s existence for quite some time now.  And now, if Sony’s PlayStation Facebook page can be used as any indication, it seems that they may finally be ready to reveal the game for real this time.

While PC gamers celebrate, Demon's Souls on the PS3 will rage one last time into the night.

Dark Souls, the spiritual successor of the surprise hit Demon’s Souls, has been lauded by many a gamer for its brutal and unforgiving difficulty – a feature that has separated the game from the more regular AAA fair that was released last year.  It’s a game designed specifically for the hardcore gamer, but it hadn’t yet been able to call the most hardcore of platforms, the PC, home.  That is, until now.

EA's download service may have sprung a massive leak.

UPDATE: In a statement issued to Game Informer, EA has let it be known that they will be making some kind of official announcement concerning Crysis 3 in just a few days.  The statement reads: “The best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained.  Stay tuned for more information on April 16.”
