FlingSmash Hands On Preview

FlingSmash is an enjoyable, simple sidescroller that Nintendo brought back to the show this year, renaming last year's little-talked about game, SpanSmasher.

When I picked up FlingSmash, I didn't know much about the game, despite its presence last year. From the name, I knew it had something to do with smashing, and perhaps a flinging motion, but that was about all. I spoke with the man in charge of the demo station, and shortly after, began playing the first stage in the game.

List of 3DS Games Confirmed By Nintendo

Some titles were mentioned on the show floor, others weren't. Here's an incomplete list provided by Nintendo on their E3 press site.

Keep in mind this list is partial, by Nintendo's word, and most titles are tentative, if even that.

Super Meat Boy Preview

There's not much that can be said about Super Meat Boy that fans and gamers interested in the title don't already know.

While I, personally, didn't receive hands-on time with the game, I can say it looks like it'll play a lot like the flash-based version of the game plays. That means quick, reflexive platforming, wall-cling-jumping, and lots of blood every time Meat Boy dies. New features include instant replays of every attempt to complete the stage all at once, a newer, sharper, sleeker art direction for Meat Boy and the gang that looks great and fluid in action, and even boss stages, though I didn't get to see any in action.

Pac-Man Party Hands On Preview

Maybe you've had Pac-Man Fever, but couldn't get enough partying in with the pizza-shaped ghost-runner. Will Pac-Man Party provide fans with a fix?

Some games on the show floor didn't demo very well. At the same time, others did play great, were easy to pick up, and needed little real explanation of the controls. Naturally, though, there's several games that I'd say wound up being right in-between.

What else does it mean? That all next week, and in more weeks to come, we'll be unloading impressions of E3, uploading pictures of the event, and getting you coverage from several games we tried on the floor.

Limbo Hands On Preview

Puzzle-based platforming? I'm there.

Limbo is part of XBLA's Summer promotion, and definitely created a compelling effort on the show floor this year.

Star Fox 64 3D Hands On Preview

StarFox 64 is back! In 3DS port form.

There's not all that much to say about StarFox 64 3DS. Believe it or not, in this case, it's exactly what one would expect it to be.

3DS Game Trailers - Jason R's take

I go over a few select 3DS trailers I saw at the 3DS booth at E3.

Like Nintendo said, for those of you at home, you'll honestly have to take our words for it. 3D is better. I saw trailers for a few titles, including Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and Kid Icarus, and found myself Thoroughly impressed.

Sports Champions Hands On Preview

Sports Champion also has ping pong. Find out what a casual ping pong player thinks of the game.

So, again, much like Wii Sports Resort, Sports Champions has a ping pong mode. To be brief, the mode feels quite a bit better than archery felt in my hands, but still has a few hang-ups in control.
