If you haven't heard, Nintendo plans to shut down the servers for several of the Wii channels that have been around for years this week. On June 28th, the Forecast Channel, the News Channel, the Everybody Votes Channel, the Nintendo Channel, and the Check Mii Out Channel will all cease to function. You'll also no longer be able to have Miis migrate amongst you and your friends' systems, which will sadly leave my Mii parade just shy of a thousand participants.

Why not check in on this online arcade auction just for kicks? Should be going on for a while.

We all see different ads on PixlBit based on COMPUTERBRAINS and their hard working algorithms.  Apparently I have been pegged as a Gap shopper who is female and has unusual proportions... and not in a good way.  

All of a sudden yesterday, the big climax of this video popped into my brain.  We watched this film (or possibly a tape) in my “Computer Literacy” class in junior high.  Even at the time, we knew it was terrible.  Upon re-watching it now, I can confirm.  Please give it a try and see what you think.  Maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.

North Texas may not be a Mecca for gamers, even if we do have a few developers around, but there is one thing that I think is worth a yearly pilgrimage:  The Texas Pinball Festival.  Every year in March, pinball (and arcade) fans come to North Texas to play a huge room full of all the games that used to crowd bowling alleys and bars.  From early, purely mechanical tables to the newest releases using super-bright LED displays and 3D video packed into a hotel ballroom and set on free play, it makes for an amazing day. 

Thanks to the relatively slow season we’re having with game releases, I’ve been able to start playing a few games from the ol’ backlog.  It’s been pretty enjoyable so far, just enjoying these games that have been hanging around on my shelves (virtual and physical) for a while.  Here’s a quick run-down of what I’ve been up to.
