PixlBit

Alright, it’s Friday everybody!  I mean, it’s gotta be.  When I got to work today, I was greeted with a break room full of an assortment of Panera Bread bagels, tons of cream cheese, and lots of orange juice.  If today ain’t Friday, then I don’t want to know what day it is.  Well, before I talk about my recent game pick-up, there’s something else I’d like to briefly mention.

Okay, so it’s been nearly a week since the news about 1Up’s fate came to light and we former-1Up bloggers packed up and vacated the place.  The dust is beginning to settle and a good number of my friends have flocked here to Pixlbit as a safe haven for gaming community goodness.  Within a day or two of settling down here, I decided that it this would be the perfect place to continue writing retro game reviews.  But I also had a small conundrum on my hands.  Should I go back an re-post all of my old reviews and lead up to my latest works that aren’t posted yet?  Or should I just pick up directly from where I left off at 1Up and just move forward?

So I get home from work today to find the familiar friendly smile of a box from Amazon.com.  Hmmm, I wonder it could be?.  As I carefully used my house key to cut the tape from the box, that Zelda "item collection" music played in the background as it revealed...

It's official.  I'm making Pixlbit my new home.  Once I read that heart-warming "Welcome to Pixlbit" article from Julian Titus, I knew this was right place for me.  It demonstrated to me that the writers on this site get it...they really get it.  He could have just as easily chosen not to formaly acknowledge the influx of now former 1Up bloggers.  But instead, Julian went that extra mile and met us half-way with a warm blanket and mug of hot chocolate, so to speak.  I find that kindness to be rare in the world gaming sites (let's see IGN do that!).

Hey everyone.  I just found out about this place.  As some of you may already know, 1Up.com is being shutdown pretty soon. So us 1Uppers need to go elsewhere to blog.  I'm not sure if this will be my permenant home, but I'm going to see what happens.  I'll be lurking around here for the next week or so.  But if I decide to make this my home, you'll definitely see more from me.
