Yea, so I'm still doing this Gaming-by-Association thing on the side of my rentals. Why? It's fun.

I played mostly Lego Marvel Avengers on XBO, but I did a little bit of Borderlands 1 and some Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World on 3DS. I'll do the least played first. 

I started this game today on XBO. So far so good. It's pretty fun. I'm on the hunt to unlock Ultron, and after a few hours, no sign of him. I have a feeling I'm going to have to play most of the game to unlock him. That's fine. The only issue I have at the moment is that sometimes it's hard to see where you can build something because the highlighted area is subtle as heck. Also, there are a lot of special powers and sometimes it's hard to figure out which one works where. Sometimes it doesn't matter, though, because in story mode you only have access to the two characters they give you on a particular level and they might not have the power you're looking for. But once you finish the level in story, you can go back in free play and use any character you've unlocked. I like trying to find the hidden Stan Lees. My mission is to save the Stan Lees!

I'm going through my collection now and trading in anything I don't have strong feelings about and saving the credit to help pay for a Switch, when I can get my hands on one. I tore through my XBO/PS4 games yesterday; and today, I hit the first shelf of Xbox 360 games. I saved some. Here's some of the stuff I saved. 

My plan, so far, is to play some more Borderlands 2 from The Handsome Collection and then pry myself away from that after a couple hours (usually very difficulty) and play Lego Marvel Avengers, which I just got with my preorder money from Halo Wars 2 (I'm going to rent it instead). But I just noticed that my first rental game on the way is Yoshi's Woolly World for 3DS. Whether it'll get to me by Saturday is a question. If it does, I'll jump right into that first. Here's some more detail on these games below.

Every year, around the holidays, I go looking to see what new Halo books have been published. In 2016 I got a few and just finished the first one, Halo: New Blood by Matt Forbeck. 

I went through my wacko gaming-by-association games today, after almost playing nothing else but Borderlands 2, and decided after all that that I should just start renting with Gamefly and stick to current releases, and be happy with that. It's easier, and makes more sense, as well as saving me money. I think the only things I'll have to buy now are download only titles and toys-to-life stuff, and I have a pretty large collection to use as trade bait for all that for a while. So here's what I played today.

I was thinking the other day about the games that really formed the core of my gaming. Many of them are games with campaign co-op as an option. It goes back all the way to the 80s and arcade games. So here's a list of the five games that everything else revolved around over the years.

About a week ago, I went to my local arcade, Pinball Gallery, to play a pinball machine that was released in 1967, the year I was studying for January, Derby Day by Williams. I took a picture shown below:

My music listening project for this year is to listen to as much music as I can from each year starting with 1968. I'm slowly adding music to my iPod playlist every night, month by month. So far I have stuff like Blue Cheer's Vincebus Eruptum (with the song "Summertime Blues"), Iron Butterfly's debut album Heavy, Steppenwolf's debut album containing the hit "Born to Be Wild", Blood, Sweat & Tears debut album Child Is Father to the Man, Mothers of Invention's We're Only in it for the Money, and Joni Mitchel's debut Song for a Seagull. I mention this because I'm also investigating what games were out that year. Here's a breakdown:
