Zombies have been all the rage in popular culture for quite some time now and that’s reflected in the App Store. You'll find zombies in every sort of game imaginable but the best thing to do to them, naturally, is shoot them in the face!

I know some others have posted the news but in case you haven't heard, Hiroshi Yamauchi died this morning at the age of 85. He was Nintendo's president during the NES, SNES, and N64 years and is the one responsible for getting them into the electronics business in the first place. USGamer has a great retrospective/tribute on their website. Check it out here. Yamauchi did much to shape the industry we all love and though he hasn't been active at Nintendo since 2005, it's still sad to see him go.

Went yard saling again Saturday and found a used Super Nintendo with two controllers and all its cords for $8. You can bet we jumped on that! It's all yellowed with age but still works just fine. Unfortunately, someone beat us there and bought all the games but we actually have a couple already. They were my wife's when she was a kid and we've been holding onto them ever since we found them at her parents' house. (Her old SNES is still MIA though.) I've been looking around the internet and there aren't many places around here that sell old games but we'll be checking them out. There's always Craigslist and ebay, I guess, but either way I'm looking forward to some good old fashioned gaming

Not long ago a JRPG came out called Time and Eternity. It didn’t blow anyone’s socks off but it did remind people that they like socks and wish that people still made such comfy socks like those in the ‘90s. (Wow, that became a strained metaphor awfully fast.) It’s a fun but rather flawed experience. Check out Julian’s review here for specifics. The soundtrack, however, is top notch and no wonder. It was composed by none other than Yuzo Koshiro.
