BaD: In which the inconsistent blogger returns...

Posted on 02/21/2021 at 07:44 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I've conquered three of the Divine Beasts and I'm holding off on the fourth one because I'm exploring/farming for items to upgrade my armor sets. I actually love starting the game just to explore and forage; it's oddly compelling. I'm also trying to work up the courage to continue the Trial of the Sword side quest so I can upgrade the master sword some more.

I'll try not to be such a stranger from here on out. ;)

No doubt, glad that ordeal is over for you.

I'm already friends with you, Cary!

I'll most likely continue to play it daily like I still do with New Leaf. I only play for 30 minutes to an hour but these games are like comfort food at this point.

E.T. Go Home - E.T. for the Atari

That game was ass. So was Raiders of the Lost Ark. My brother and I put up with a lot of lousy game experiences in the Atari 2600 era.

Physical Purchases. Remember Those?

The last couple Switch games that I've bought have been physical copies and I'll pick up a used PS3 title if I fancy it. But I'm mostly digital these days. In the case of Xbox One, its less of a hassle when you don't have to switch out game discs so much.

Castlevania on the N64: Vampire hunting in 3-D

Bad reviews scared me away from these games back in the day. I don't think any of the 3D Castlevania games have knocked it out of the park, handsomely produced as some of them may be.

The First Souls Game? - Zelda 2

Posted on 11/11/2020 at 07:36 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Back in the late 80s-early 90s, the lack of information on games could really make or break a game for me when it felt like I was just banging my head against a wall. While I would eventually finish the first Zelda game, I never got far through Zelda II. Design-wise, it tells you nothing and while you're free to explore, you're more likely to die by being in the wrong place. Had the internet existed back then or if the information was more widely accessible, would I have stuck with it? Probably. These days I own it on two consoles with game guides easily available. I should try it again sometime.

Now that FF 14 is going free...

When it comes to Xbox One, I'll try it.
