For such a simple concept, it's crazy how popular Five Nights at Freddy's is. There's like, five or so games in the series, plus tons of merchandise and such. I'm not a big fan of the gameplay and jumpscares, but the lore behind it all is kind of interesting. I once had a dream that I rode a Five Nights at Freddy's ride in an amusement park. Which would be pretty feasable in real life. I'm also surprised there's not a movie based on the franchise.
Well, actually there is a movie that is a total ripoff of Five Nights at Freddy's. It's called Willie's Wonderland and it's a classic example of a bad B movie. It stars Nicholas Cage, but he has NO lines in the movie at all! It's hilarious. I think you can watch it on one of the streaming services, but I can't remember which one. Hulu or HBO Max I think. Only bad thing about the movie is that there is a sex scene that really didn't need to be there.
I don't understand why everyone is so afraid of those Chuck E Cheese animatronics. I never was scared of them as a kid. Although many years later when my younger brothers were little, the last time we went to Chuck E Cheese, one of the robot's back of the head fell off. Some kids got scared, but we just laughed at it. I hear that they don't have the robots anymore, just a big TV screen where the stage was. I know that the high cost of maintaining the robots is what made them do that, but I think Five Nights at Freddy's helped contribute to their downfall.
I THINK I've seen all the Hotel Transylvania movies, but I never watched them in a theater. I just rented them or waited till they came on TV or something. I like the fact that the guy who directed Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack directed those movies as well.
