Frogger to Return on WiiWare and PSN

Posted on 10/28/2009 at 12:38 AM | Filed Under News

"Frogger Returns boasts a game 12 times the size of the original..."

How's George ever going to get it off the street to keep his high score!?

Seriously? I've played Frogger. I've played the Frogger on the PS1 that's featured at the top of this page. In my opinion, it wasn't any more fun than the original. Unsurprisingly, the screen shots really do look like more of the same. If you enjoy Frogger, it's for you. If you don't, I'd doubt there's anything really here that would change your mind.

Also, 12 times the size of the original? How are they quantifying? 11 more stages? 12 times the number of spaces to jump on? 12 times as much memory? That's probably the most vague number given to describe a video game I've ever seen!

Nintendo Announces Excitebike World Rally

I should hope this becomes a positive trend with Nintendo's old IP. Variations on the old classics, I mean.

Also, IGN's hilarious. They just love acting like they've got some very special news. :D

Good news for those with Netflix and PS3s, as well as those with Netflix stock.

Halloween Horror

So I'll probably be around this time. I've remembered it up until now, at least, and the Gators have an out-of-town game this week to boot.

...Of course I've been sick, so my voice is off. I might call less than the Metroid marathon. It'll depend on all of my fans.

Games I Love ... That Everyone Else Seems To Hate: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

I always thought the game was the first Banjo game to actually implement stop 'n' swop: It's the one Banjo fans would want to stop playing, and swop for another game.

OOOOOHHHH BURN.

Nah, in all seriousness, I never played it. Not worth picking up a 360 for a game that's based on the characters, but not gameplay, that I love, just like the article states.

I say yes to ED, since I've never seen that one played all the way through, and there's some awesome stuff I've heard about.

Zero And Joe The Condor Bolster Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's Character List

Posted on 10/13/2009 at 07:11 PM | Filed Under News

Is it the version of Zero printed here?

To me, it's a little surprising and a little odd that Capcom didn't go with their classic Mega Man, nor X, nor even Zero. Instead, they went with the Mega Man from Legends, as well as Zero as he appears in Mega Man Zero.

A little surprising, but I suppose it could be a method to gauge interest in these characters. Has the Versus series led to any resurrection I'm not aware of?

Namco Bandai Owns Loading Screen Mini-Game Copyright

Posted on 10/07/2009 at 11:44 PM | Filed Under News

It would be easy enough to bypass this, I'd imagine.

A work-around example would be a game with the objective of organizing the data that's loaded: As data is loaded, you interact with something on screen to represent said data, and then it's less a minigame, and more an interactive visual representation.

A second way is to just have a basic mini-game running the entirety of the time you play the main title. When you press a certain button combo, the mini-game would expand and be playable. Repeating the combination minimizes it. That's the more simple method of doing things that would avoid the copyright, I'd imagine. It would be coincidence that said game could come up during loading screens, and not be a loading-screen mini-game.

Noooooo! I completely forgot about this one. Sorry about that :( It just slipped my mind. I'll be a little more aware next time, hopefully.

Hackers Attack Back - System Update 4.2

Posted on 10/02/2009 at 01:43 AM | Filed Under News

Nope, not at all. Apparently, though, Nintendo's (or Nintendo Power's) official forums had people claiming they had not hacked their Wii's, yet it bricked them. The guy who mentioned the Boot2 thing got banned, and then Nintendo said on the off chance it did brick a non-hacked Wii, to call their hotline, explain the situation, and they'd make a special case, checking and making sure it hadn't been modded.

As far as I can tell, everything in this update has been undone or avoided already. Only idiots would cheat in an online game like that, though. It's stupid that they do.
