This reeks of BS. As a developer I can tell you it's unlikely that code isn't available in a multitude of locations. While no one may have the most up to date version, it's likely available in some form some where. I'm guessing something else was up.
Believe it or not, the lack of HD is barely noticeable. HD would make a big difference in clarity I'm sure, but I've tuned out any graphical shortcomings pretty quickly in light of the amazing art direction.
Just a quick impression thus far: this is the best Zelda yet. Chessa and I have put in about 20 hours and you can tell Nintendo listened to the criticisms directed at Twilight Princess. It's different enough that it feels fresh, but not so different that it doesn't feel like Zelda. It's exactly the kind of growth I was hoping for in the series.
Got this sitting on my HDD thanks to the latest Humble Indie Bundle. Looking forward to giving it a whirl.
Hey Mike, be sure to check out our Fable III review. It's a pretty fantastic game, but there are a couple things you might want to know about before you get to the end of the game - especially if you are an achievement hound.
I could never get into Halo personally, but I feel like it wasn't really made for me. By the time Halo came out, I had already played a whole slew of better PC shooters, like Half Life, and Halo just felt like a step back. Capture the Flag rocked in a LAN setting though, as college clearly demonstrated to me. Custom vehicle matches in Blood Gulch were good fun too.
Yeah, definitely not a troll of any kind against Nintendo (unless I'm totally missing out on some sarcasm from ShyGuy). Nintendo makes the best 2D platformers hands down and this game is of Nintendo quality. Being of Nintendo quality is probably the highest praise something could get from me.
Surely that's the message Mario is sending. I mean, it couldn't possibly be anything else, right?
PETA is really the worst. They take away all credibility from the animal rights platform by simply existing.
Pretty cool to see this, but it's a bit late if you ask me. The Virtual Console is basically dead and we've seen this game on other platforms at a better resolution already.
I'm sure they'll get plenty of purchases regardless, but it's sad that it has taken so long to get such an iconic game out with the expected online functionality.
Be careful what you wish for...
I got this game on my 13th birthday. I was equally sad when I played through it for the first time for the exact same reasons. Come to think of it, I haven't gone back to it since I beat it 100% all those years ago.
