The Middle Of June...

Now that you say that, that Lays bag is clearly made of frosting, and even if Subway lies about the actual length of its foot longs on occassion, that sandwich doesn't look proportionate, even to their six inch subs.

Well, that'll teach me to glance at things.

Why is the cake a Subway sandwich and chips? Either I don't get the joke, or I am seeing the wrong image.

But hey, hope you're having a great summer!

More Microsoft Blunders

Yeah, but didn't the PS4 do so as well, most likely? I get that it's an industry practice we should call out, and I don't think companies should be allowed to do it (blatant false advertising), but I don't think this makes MS look worse, so much as everyone else look bad, and PC look like the obvious choice for graphical powerhouse. ... which still works out for MS, cause you're most likely getting their OS on a gaming PC.

I realize internet pitchforks and torches are a poor barometer of public opinion at large, but honestly, I think that is due to a lack of information Joe Blow cares to recieve at this point. Joe Blow is not a hardcore gamer, so I think he'll notice the pricetag, the inevitable holiday consumer reports that will pretty much have to mention the One's policies, and that the consoles both have a lot of the same games.

Of course, it comes down to marketing. Microsoft's strategy should be to pump out a ton of "only for the One" commercials of all their exclusives, and Sony should continue doing and advertising everywhere they can, videos like the one about trading games to mock the One, just with more info, so Joe Blow can be filled in on what the nerds knew months ago.

Screwing with Series

I don't think it's cause you're old; if a long-standing action series I loved had a major title become turn-based, I'd be a bit miffed as well. It's just a matter of preference, and again I understand that, I just happen to be on the side that benefits.

And it's funny you mention the remakes of Star Wars as opposed to the prequels, cause with the prequels, you can just avoid them, but if you didn't get the right VHS copy of whatever Lucas stayed the hell away from, you don't get that many options when it comes to the altered originals, do you? I agree with the director of The People vs. George Lucas, the original cuts deserve to be maintained, and people should have access to them. And I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan, though I enjoy them.

LotR is an interesting one; what I've read of Fellowship seems fairly similar, but I know there's about a million more characters and plot threads than in the movies. There's a Nostalgia Chick series of reviews that mentions a lot of that. Me personally, I casually enjoyed the trilogy, but the only Tolkien book I've actually finished is Hobbit. Saw the movie too, and a bit annoyed Jackson didn't just make it one movie, but I enjoyed that as well, despite the criticism, though I enjoyed the book a lot more. It was assigned in 8th grade, and I've also seen the 70s cartoon of it. lol

I'm surprised you didn't mention Star Trek, but I guess we've been through that already. I watched "Space Seed" and had seen Wrath of Kahn before this new movie, and I enjoyed all of them, old and new.

E3: The Battle of Philosophies

Well, it matters to me. Xbox One has more exclusives I want at launch, and a controller I am quite fond of. It absolutely does not matter to me if they come out with a million more killer apps, I refuse to buy one for its "philosophy" (re: anti-consumer policies that treat me like a pirate).

If they dial back those policies in a way that I deem satisfactory, and can release a version without Kinect for the same price as PS4, I will hands down say they're the better choice. Looks like that's not happening, though.

PC (still supporting Microsoft in all likelihood, their OS are most common for gaming needs), Wii U, PS4, and whatever else you may think of are legitimate choices. Even with better software, the One is not, to this consumer.

But being one nerd on the internet, and one who skipped last generation altogether at that (in college, saving money from '08 to '12; didn't see enough of a leap from previous gen at their launches to make me want the then-new systems), I don't decide who wins. But I do think consumers will recognize the same things I do, and will support PS4 more than One, so I definitely see the PS4 upselling it; however, the One will do fine, as there are plenty of people willing to put up with that crap for the next Halo. I'm just not one of them, and I think Microsoft is overestimating their number a tad.

You sure it was him, specifically, and not a Youtube something-or-other? Sounds like a moron if it is him.

And I refuse to accept that Xbox One bashing is due to a "console war." It's a consumer war, and we all need to make sure consumers don't lose to these absurd policies. Console war was when I was eleven, and I bought a Gamecube cause of blind fanboyism, and in retrospect probably would have liked Xbox in the long-run. 360 had a lot going for it last gen. This, though? The line between "fanboys" and honest consumers is blurred beyond recognition; should Microsoft pull back on its policies and release a version without Kinect for the same price as a PS4, I'll be on their side. But it doesn't look like that'll happen, so I'm vehemently opposed, despite admitting they have better exclusives and a better controller.

Fable III on Xbox live for free

Worst or not, free is free. Too bad I don't have a 360 or a Live account. Those two things I'd actually like. lol

If a big complaint is that a game has "jetski sections," I'm sold on it!

Wait, I don't own a PS3. Well, poop.

OHHHH

Ha! When I was in college, I edited a shit-ton of panels with people talking. I know how you feel.

And yeah, Microsoft's Xbox One will do fine despite online criticism, but I am still hoping PS4 does much better, and that's what I'm going with.
