I spent many times impaled on a tree branch,Tam. lol. And I agree, there's a lot of bullet spoonging going on. I know these peeps are crazy occultists but frak, they're also supposed to be human!

The games that gave me the worst vertigo were the difficult platformers of yesterday. I agonized in ninja gaiden as I clung to a cliff face knowing one of those damned bats or birds could knock me into a pit at any second. Not to mention the hassles of when NG 2 on the nes introduced "wind" as another enemy.
I may have felt like that a few times in TR but not quite to the same dizzying extent. If they were going for "vertigo" they only partially succeeded. (Another game that can give you true fear of heights is Half Life 2.)
Thanks,Chris! You made me delirous just discussing this stuff! Gonna hurl!
I can vouch for the Fatal Frame series. They're scary and atmospheric but not too heavy on the gratuitous gore.
You also reminded me I haven't beat DD: Neon. I'm such a scrub!
They seem dated and limited now but they were pleasant time-passers,Angelo! I never even felt that conscientious about not having a game boy. Back in the day, "Tiger" had good fun for cheap prices!
That's where we difer somewhat,Chris. A lot of that old school difficulty seems a tad tidous for me now. (I'm getting old, bro. lol. My twitch monkey reflexes aren't what they used to be!) Beyond that, my definition of quality platforming might be different. Pretty much if an environment has many tiers from ground level to "high up there" and it requires jumping, climbing, and a basic knowledge of physics to traverse it, I still consider that enjoyable platforming even if the margin for error has been somewhat reduced.(Though there were still a few times I died in TR over miscalculating a jump or simply not watching where I was during a fight.) I also found in TR there were areas off the beaten path so I never felt completely boxed in.
If anything, TR isn't as bad as "Heavy rain" or "Two souls" when it comes to a lack of interactivity. Once all games pretty much try to be like those titles I think I'll throw in my controller and call it quits! (No offense to people who enjoyed those games. I simply believe calling them "games" instead of "interactive movies" is a bit misleading.)
This game is a prequel so luckily you don't need knowledge of the other games to enjoy it,Alejandro. If you enjoy games like Uncharted and Resident evil 4 it's a safe bet you'll like TR:Reboot as well!
I never "loved" Tombraider as a franchise either. If it hadn't been for TR Anniversary and TR: Guardian Of The Light I would have been completely disinterested as a whole. But the reboot hits most of the rights for me,Cas! I just HATE the enemy wave segments.
"Blasto pies??" That guy......most awesome super hero ever!
By the way,Yaiba has me intrigued. I like the art style and the premise of ninjas fighting zombies!
You've opened the "controversy gates",Lar! Fight for your life in the arena as rabid FF fans try to devour your soul!
