Olympus Has Fallen: 'Murrca and CGI

Posted on 03/31/2013 at 12:44 AM | Filed Under Blogs

It's incredibly corny, kind of like the original Die Hard mixed with Independence Day, so it's funny you say that, cause I think of it as a combo of movies that get replayed on TV a lot. lol

My March in Gaming

Love Sly, wish I could play the newest.

That Ni No Kuni ending you alluded to ... not sure an E-10+ rated game is ready to give a kid PTSD and auditory hallucinations at the end. lol But it would be an interesting story. I have yet to see Grave of the Fireflies.

Best/Worst Dream Ever

Posted on 03/31/2013 at 12:32 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I don't know I've ever recalled a gaming dream, most of mine when I have them (well, I guess, remember them technically) are related to real life. They're either dull or suuuuuck, or they're heaven;y, which means there's a good chance someone is vacuuming nearby to fuck up my dream. Yell

Edit: Also those things from Temple Run  look like something from the Little Nemo: Adventures in Dreamland anime I watched as a kid and gave me tons of nightmares.

Guilty Pleasures: Female characters

Posted on 03/31/2013 at 12:27 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Of those, I only recognize Dark Queen. I thought I recognized Mai Shinaru, but was thinking of another character.

For guilty pleasure, I guess I've always found Chun Li hot? And Ivy would be, but she has kinda boyish hair that distracts me and also looks like a total bitch. I dunno, I don't really think about it when playing a game, usually if I notice it, it's cause the boobs are ridiculously disproprtionate and I laugh.Chun Li actually looks like she could exist though, and I like legs and thighs, especially on chickens.

For non-guilty pleasures though, Shiek is an awesome character.

Star Ocean: First Departure

Loved that FFXIII review, as well as TheSpoonyOne's. Never actually played the game (I share this guy's feelings about turn-based combat *ahem*), but the reviews of it are hilarious.

I probably wouldn't be able to get past wherever your friend was (my copy of Golden Sun is saved near some ice puzzle I couldn't figure out, and I haven't touched the game in eleven years), but that's nice you got to show him up for that snarky (I take it) "good luck." lol

April Edition Pre Orders

No pre-orders here, as I have yet to adopt a new system there'd be one for, but Injustice looks awesome!

Sonic and Megaman: Worlds Collide - review incoming

Posted on 03/30/2013 at 11:52 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I read about this in a 1up article during their Mega Man week way back, and saw a Sonic for Hire and Mega Man Dies at the End crossover on Youtube, but totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder!

GLaD 30: Bloody Roar: Primal Fury & Cover Charge Saturday

Posted on 03/30/2013 at 11:44 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Yeah, I really don't remember the story to Bloody Roar much at all, I just thought it looked cool when I saw my brother playing it; I don't remember the Primal Fury story much either for that matter, just that it was animated nicely.

I don't really understand people's issues with the series either, it might not be Soul Calibur or even Tekken, but it's fast as you said, and I definitely remember having good times with friends playing it as well. I'll grant that the presentation could be better, but it had some pretty cool environments, too, nonetheless.

It was the first game I owned for the original Game Boy myself, all the other ones were my brother's, and it's one of the only RPGs I remember with much fondness (there's a couple others, but JRPGs are still not my thing for the mostpart), so we do indeed have similar experiences with this game.

Only I'm starting to think I might have sold it and my GBC. Not sure.

It's a black box that connects to the bottom of the Gamecube, you can put a GBA game in it, and insert the Gamecube disc it comes with that interacts with the player to enable you to play your GBA games on your TV, with the Gamecube controller.
