Good review. As a non-fan of Final Fantasy in general, I have to say, I pretty much like that it fucked everything you listed, and it actually sounds like this game would appeal to me; especially the story more focused on political intrigue and warfare than a whiny protagonist. Granted, that's not an uncommon story theme, but it is one I find more interesting.

The grinding, on the other hand, does not sound like something I'd love, but hey, Order of Ecclesia got me used to that crap, so with turn-based combat not really being in this, I might just be fine with it.

As for the videos, Gametrailers had much better presentation, but someone might want to tell them that the average of 7.2, 7.2, and 8.0 isn't 8.0 ... lol. I know that's not how they determined their score, but still.

Can't say I've played much Hitman, but if I ever feel like just getting several at once to get up to speed, sounds like it'd be worth it. Good to know.

That Dust game looks amazing.

Is this new, or was this part of the game a day challenge a few years back on 1up? Cause I remember "favorite towns" being one of the days, and you doing one. (Ed: I now see "1up Repost," and am not rushing to the gym, never mind lol)

In any case, I think Ravenholm sounds like a great concept for a gaming town.

Oh lord; I have yet to find a friend of mine that is in any way a minority and had anything other than the most hellish, painful time working at Wal-Mart. My ex girlfriend worked in Arkansas at Wal Mart, and my God, it sounded like the worst thing. lol Her friends still worked there when we visited her old college, and they all agreed when we watched the South Park episode about it, that that Halloween special episode was a documentary by all accounts: it really was a monster. But then, there's so many savings, which even they admitted to loving, despite despising their jobs ... ugh. lol

Why thank you. I'm not really huge on jazz, but I do enjoy a lot of it I hear; I used to help myself sleep by listening to smooth jazz stations. I hated it in the dentist's office, but it was soothing to listen to at night; the DJs just sounded creepy, though. lol And I've liked what I've heard of Coltrane and Davis.

I think I started liking metal before high school as well, but it didn't become a huge thing for me until high school and my later teen years (I went to quite a few concerts in 2008, the only non-metal one being Death Cab for Cutie of all things). I love Sabbath and UFO as well; would have never heard of UFO if 3 Inches of Blood hadn't listed them as an influence in one of their interviews.

As far as depressing stuff goes, I did like it and still do depending on my mood. It's more the grunge from that time period than the metal, but "Fade to Black" by Metallica is a good example of a depressing song I enjoy both cause it got me through a hard time and when I'm in a good mood, it's just a great song. It's the song that made me want to play guitar, in fact. Of course, I like band with screaming singers as well, or at least ones that aren't attempting to sing, like Terrorizer and Arsis, but I do like melody coming from my vocalists at least, so I see what you're saying there. I can't stand Job for a Cowboy, personally, and I LOVE metal bands where the frontman really uses his pipes, especially Iron Maiden.

Had to look up Doro Pesch, never really listened to much Warlock. I do love Tarja Turunnen (sp?) from Nightwish as a singer, and Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy has an incredible presence as more of a "screamer." lol

And I love Sinatra too, but I dunno, I like the music Seth Macfarlane's put out in the same style quite a bit. :)

Looks like a good game. I don't think her voice was too deep, I just thought the line read was a little awkward; otherwise, voice acting seemed pretty standard for a ported Japanese game to me. And that giant hand move looked cool.

I'm in Texas, but in a major city like Dallas, it's not THAT uncommon, though I certainly don't bring it up in interviews; in Nacogdoches (east/rural Texas), where I went to college, the Bible Belt was quite a bit more apparent, but when on campus, again it wasn't THAT uncommon, so I've never felt like I was in any real danger ... but then again I only told the right people, so there ya go.

Honestly, I'd say there's an age gap that determines how big a deal it is in most cases, as GamergirlBritt alluded to. I had mostly Christian friends and one of my best friends was a Bhuddist; I tried not to bring it up around anyone but my Buddhist friend, just cause we discussed philosophy all the time.
