Donkey Kong Country Returns Gets Classic Controller Support

Posted on 01/19/2011 at 10:59 AM | Filed Under News

If you take a look at the codes, there are a few lines that are pointed out. In order to change the controls, just swap the last three digits on those lines.

So 200 is for the R button and 020 is for the Y button. If you swap those values on the respective lines, you'll get a more SNES like control scheme.

Hope that helps.

Nintendo Announces Release Date and Price Point for 3DS

Yeah, that red one is sharp. I want one at launch, so if Nintendo doesn't send a review unit, I'll be grabbing the black one.

Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy XIII-2

This news is not at all surprising. After developing such an advanced engine for FF XIII, it was an obvious move to reuse it in a new title.

I enjoyed XIII, but I know a lot of people didn't. I'll be interested to see if this sequel sells anywhere as many copies as the original now that people know what they're getting.

Paper Mario Nintendo World 3DS Trailer

This looks like it's going to be really phenomenal with the 3D effect. I'd be more excited if I had actually kept up with the Paper Mario series, but as it stands, I have only played Super Paper Mario, which isn't really anything like the rest of the games.

I should resume my attempts to secure the N64 cart while I'm at it, and play through that one, and Thousand Year Door which I already own. One day...

Nintendo World's 3DS Software Lineup Video

Everything in the video is looking really sharp, without even having the 3D effect. Of course, everything looked great at E3 too, so that's not entirely surprising.

In a lot of ways, the release of the 3DS seems almost like the release of a new home console rather than a portable one. I feel as if the gap between the two has finally been bridged for Nintendo. The games being released are very much home console style games, and the graphics finally match up to that as well. As such, I'm curious to see how big of a splash the system makes at release. It seems like it's going to be huge, but one never knows.

Namco Museum Megamix Review

Posted on 01/08/2011 at 11:20 PM | Filed Under Review

This one definitely seems like a Namco cash grab after "Remix" came out a few years ago. It's a real shame that most of the remix games on the disc are so bad, they seem like the part of the collection that would make it more interesting than just a bunch of old games that no one really likes any more.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Review

Holy smokes, this review is epic!

Thanks for the in-depth look at the game, Chris. Your enthusiasm and knowledge has me kind of excited to play it, though I feel obligated to actually tackle the first two games before I bother picking this one up.

Track Your Game Collection with PixlBit

Yeah, his collection is disgusting. I remember seeing it a few years back and thought for a split second that it wasn't worth collecting games any more because I could never have a collection as good as his.

Then I realized that it wasn't that important and kept on trucking.
